apparently (so the Americans say) being able to get hold of guns isn't the problem. with their high levels of gun crime....

I was surprised to see just how wrong the info circulated about the incident was though. Makes me wish I'd seen bowling for columbine now so I could see how that shapes up in comparison.

the ineptitude
in Amerika cannot be overstated. I'm not surprised at how poorly this case was handled. and that no one saw through this psychopath and his counterpart.

as for the access to guns, it's just another part of ridiculous USA. an argument conducted by fools, circling endlessly and with no chance of stopping soon. I happen to like guns, strictly for target shooting, but would be quite happy to see them banned. this will never happen, however.

What I didn’t understand from that story was why the investigators specifically said they weren’t targeting the Scottish.

I mean, no-teeth-alcoholics-in-skirts they might be, but I can’t imagine any kids with guns in America would be targeting the Jocks.

I think this assumption by the investigators might be why its taken so long to get to the bottom of this.

Holy fuck....
I knew they'd planned, but I didn't know they'd set up bombs as well... They could have killed thousands of people! What is also interesting is some of the psychological stuff as well. I don't think I ever fully bought the "they where picked on too much" theory.

The problem as I see it is as such
You'll always get psychos and unfortunately, unless they're complete social inadequates, the buggers have a canny knack of gravitating towards each other. They feed and thrive off of their buddy egging each other on to greater schemes dependant upon their collective mentality.

While US gun laws do give significant body counts real potential, the psychos always find a way. That lad in Belgium who slashed up the nursery full of kiddies or the chap in Japan who ran amok with a knife ..... The nutters will always out.

And I'm inclined to agree with TRL, I suspect that the self absorbed little shits thought it'd be a culmination of two misunderstood geniuses lifes work and were glorying in 'delivering their paper'. Set of bastards.
