Right...
My band and I have finally got something recorded at a quality I'm happy to share with you.
Not a 100% final version, but here you go:
Ghosts

Dunno what to describe it as really. General rock with some shouty bits.

I like it a lot
It has a desert-rock, seedy kinda feel to it, a bit like a Rodriguez film crossed with White Zombie.

Keeps on rocking

If you're planning to tinker with the production...
I'd recommend a bit of reverb on the drums.

That's one sweet guitar solo...I'm trying to think what the main guitar riff reminds me of.

Yeah, my drummer was saying something about
"The drums are all in the centre", so he's gonna do something about that.
But, yep, I'm really pleased with our guitarist, he's awesome! (and new)

can't listen @ work
but will do at home, am eager to hear your work sir.

Same here
The description of 'seedy' and 'desert rock' made me extremely curious.

Kaol, what do you do?
(, Wed 22 Apr 2009, 15:18, Reply)
having to dl an appropriate player
no one has ever referred to my guitar solos as sweet :-(

I tend to be sadly overlooked as we have an awesome double bass player, drummer, harmonica player and ou singer is quite a character...

In general, spike?
Or in the band?

Well, I carry all the amps, make sure the cables aren't tangled, and chain-smoke.

And do the singing and bass-playing.
(, Wed 22 Apr 2009, 15:20, Reply)
I have to wait till I get home to listen.
Will you be upset if I like it?
(, Wed 22 Apr 2009, 15:22, Reply)
bah, it won't let me play it
should the linky take me to a page that plays the song, or should I be downloading it?
(, Wed 22 Apr 2009, 15:24, Reply)
Pffft!
I don't care who likes it, it's just a bit of fun really :)

EDIT: The link should take you to a page that loads an in-browser player. Mine used quicktime.
(, Wed 22 Apr 2009, 15:25, Reply)
It's working fine for me
And it's sounding good so far. But yeah, effects on the drums as someone up there ^ said.
(, Wed 22 Apr 2009, 15:27, Reply)
@Kaol
I said do like it, not don't like it.

I was being daft.
(, Wed 22 Apr 2009, 15:27, Reply)
gay, it won't work for me
takes me to a "this page is broken screen" and when I put the link into quicktime it gets an error
(, Wed 22 Apr 2009, 15:27, Reply)
I meant in the band
but feel free to divulge what you do in general if you like :0)

In general I annoy people, drink to much and snort to much (although not that much anymore) while maintaining gainful employment, being an loving nearlyhubbie and doting father.

Musically, I'm struggling (STILL!) to find rehearsal space to get the JD project up and running.

Practice space
Can be a bitch of an issue.
We're lucky in that we've got a shed in my drummer's garden where we've got our stuff set up.
Although we have to move the shopping-trolley-full-of-rusty-machetes out before we practice.
(, Wed 22 Apr 2009, 15:33, Reply)
we practice in my mate's bedroom
the main road outside had been shut for 6 weeks so was deadly quiet and our noise carried quite far.

we got a round of applause and cheers from some hot girls last week :-)

Macclesfield
Its full of musical talent here but unfortuantely all the bands clamour for bookings at the only practise studio around, unless they're lucky enough to have their own space. It's a fookin nightmare to be honest.

There are a few community halls etc but even they're hard work getting in to.

It makes me sad coz I really keen to get things moving :0(

I like it
And yes the solo is awesome. Your voice reminds me a bit of a cross between Iggy Pop and Ramnstein, and that can only be a good thing. Release more stuff! :)
(, Wed 22 Apr 2009, 15:40, Reply)
I'd heard a preliminary version of the song
and already knew I liked it...

my verdict: shit hot!
(, Wed 22 Apr 2009, 15:41, Reply)
Thanks guys!
It's great to get some feedback, as I've heard this song so many times I'm kinda snowblind to it.
(, Wed 22 Apr 2009, 15:45, Reply)
it's made me think of going a bit heavier
with my side project. I'd been toying with the idea anyway, and that has confirmed it.

I'm going to take my ibanez to our session tonight!
(, Wed 22 Apr 2009, 15:47, Reply)
*likes*
I feel the Metal, but it also reminds me of some early hardcore bands. *burn those memories*
Cheers!
(, Wed 22 Apr 2009, 16:28, Reply)
Not something I'd rush out and buy but I think you knew that anyway : )
But it sounds a lot more professional than I was expecting and your voice is great.
(, Wed 22 Apr 2009, 19:21, Reply)
That song there
is quite good.

Not as good as the fact that my mam has danced with Graeme Souness tho.
(, Wed 22 Apr 2009, 19:24, Reply)
sigh
stupid laptop won't let me listen to this :(
