Kindness
Many of you have been kind enough in the past to comment on the quality of my writing about being a mental.

On this basis, I'm going to write a blog on it - is this something that people here would read? Note: contains warts n all, I'm afraid, in its' current form.

EDIT: Mentalness in my form = PTSD, depression and 300mg daily of venlafaxine.

Before declaring yourself as a mental
Might it not be helpful to provide a yardstick by which to establish comparisons?

I think it would be interesting and give non-mentals or those who suffer slightly less a good idea about what you go through.
Those who poke fun or dismiss can fuck right off.

Edit - I used to be only on 30mg of Venlaflaxine. Puts it all into perspective really.

I would be very cafefull about writting a blog, esspeicaly if you're not going to remain anomonious on it.
Be mindfull about who will read it, including the people who you write about. Let's say there is a situation where a friend or family member pisses you off, but it's the end of the issue, they could read about it a month later when you've forgoten about it, and they could be hurt by the things you were thinking at the time.

Ask one of your medical proffesionals first,

Thanks all - for your advice, Here's the first instalment. Please let me have your commentary; I'll happily take it on board.
Thank you - all - for your comments. Under advice, I'm removing this page.

I'm not sure about the demographic of QOTW....
... but in my experiance of web development (10 years now), not everyone reads everything, some people would, but many would skim through that, some may even read it all properly. But doing a "I'm sorry if I offend you, this is my thoughts at the time, and my opinon has probably changed since then" thing won't cut it.

It's not sirnames you should be carefull of, it's first names. Your mate john will know your mate craig, for example, and if any of them read it, they can link. Even using aliases will eventually get ovbouse to the people in your life.

I'm just sayin', if you do do a blog, don't show it to anyone you'll ever write about, or anyone who'll know anyone you'll write about, except maybe medical proffesionals.

[I've not read what you posted, I'm just going to get onto that now.]

And in reply to your [potential] blogpost.....
It's not right for me to comment in any extream, but if you're a nice enough chap (which you seem to be), you don't need to validate your existance in any major way.

Belive me when I say this, through experiance, donating something to some organisation might get you a plack on the wall, but giving those you love a hug at the right time will get you a place in their hearts. Both are good though.

As soon as I clicked post, I thought a bit more....
I love to see my projects come to fruitation, and if that means giving it away for that to succeed, then I don't mind doing that.

I'm probably going to post a few replys here, but in general, you seem like a really nice chap who just needs a bit of validation (like most of us).

YES
I had this exact problem.

Schizophrenia.. 300 mgs amisulpride here.. do I win ed's top trump card so to speak?
(, Wed 20 May 2009, 21:04, Reply)
Nope!
But you do win a blankety blank cheque book and pen.

I considered Gazzing you, then felt that being open in my response - as you have in your blog - would be more appropriate.

This is not the forum to be laying out your feelings.

You will be subject to all manner of disapprobration, dismissal and ridicule.

I am not about to attempt to dissuade you from whichever path you choose to take - your destiny is in your hands and is your responsibility - but I'd perhaps suggest that you might be a little more circumspect in making future declarations.

Please don't think I'm being dismissive. I'm available to Gaz. But please consider the response that the daytime clowns might have made to your post.

Thanks The_D
I appreciate the candour. I'm going to delete the post in a few hours time (before I go to bed) so that the daytimers don't get to be assholes with it.

Good idea on the whole.
They will only start telling you to buy a Honda Accord and advise on treatment for aspergers.
(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:45, Reply)
I was about to say the same thing.
I'd be interested in reading it, but here, it would most likely be flooded with comments of tl:dr, man the fuck up and such forth.

Perhaps /talk would be a better place.
(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:53, Reply)
Frankly
I'd suggest that you delete it pretty soon.

Like I said - there are caring people in this community, some of whom have helped me in the past and some of whom I think I've helped.

But there are also clowns.

Please don't subject yourself to their derision.
(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:51, Reply)
Totally on the ball there.

(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:49, Reply)
Ed, much as I think this blog would be fascinating from the outset for lots of people to read, please consider
what disappointed has said about deleting it immediately. I also have a blog, mostly for work stuff, but I also use it as an outlet for private thoughts. I have a very select readership, but even then some of the stuff I write, I wouldn't consider letting anyone else read for one reason or another.

There's no reason why you can't have a similar kind of blog, where some parts are totally private and other parts can be read by people ok'd by you. B3ta is not the place for this at all, blogger or live journal are.

Thanks All
As you'll notice, it's gone.

It'll be published - warts n all - on blogger, but not here.

Thank you again for the feedback.
(, Wed 20 May 2009, 21:01, Reply)
I think
That the very fact that you've been sufficiently self-aware to delete the post validates you.

I've gazzed you anyway.
(, Wed 20 May 2009, 21:33, Reply)
Damn
did I miss the poking fun at the online blogger moment? *sads* It's really not my day today
