well it's mainly because
my accommodation over the next two years is going to be a mix of non-landline mainland,inner-city locations and suburbs.i need t'internet to survive ^^ but some kind of fixed location is not possible....

I think they're quite a con, well, if you know about techonlogy they are.
My mobile contract allows for unlimited data included (or £7.50/month, I think, on O2). I have a S60 based nokia phone, with some software that turns it into a mobile hotspot (ad-hoc network).

Put that together and all my devices can get online wherever I am.

This is probably a better idea
I've heard of this being done quite a lot, and would probably say it's the best idea. Check your contract will allow though.
