If you have a look at the ED article on this place, there's some notes about pronunciation:
Like users of 4chan's /b/, users of b3ta refer to themselves as "b3tards", which is pronounced exactly the same way as /b/tard: in the United Kingdom, the Greek letter "beta" is pronounced "BEE-ta" (as in "beat off") rather than "BAY-ta" (as in "masturbater").
Of course, in accordance with this, I say bee-ta.
AA, who I was alarmed to hear, calls it bay-ta.
How do you say it? Or do you not refer to this hallowed place in normal conversation?
NB I speak Ancient Greek with a scottish accent anyway, so my knowledge of pronunciation is pretty much ouden.

Most people I've met from here have called it BEE-ta, as would I.

You've got to be careful of AA, he's secretly a scientologist. FACT.

Which in my Scottish accent, does not actually rhyme with Peter, like it says in the FAQ.

Didn't even have to venture into ED!
Ah well. What has been seen cannot be unseen, after all.
