I am now in my new house
And fucking knackered. And very sunburned. And slightly drunk. How are you lot?

Hurrah for a new house
I do hate moving though.

very very VERY BORED
and tired.

But mainly bored.

The perils of doing nothing all day is that when you come to do nothing you are ALREADY BORED OF DOING NOTHING.

Pah.

Getting tipsy
Gave up on doing coursework. Working my way through th Star Trek films now.

Hurrah to that too.
I went to a marathon showing of Star Trek films when Generations came out.

All the films with Generations at the end.

In absolute ridiculous love
with my new PC. It is a beast and well worth the wait. Another day of fine-tuning and listening to all my music tomorrow I think!

Mmmm
Makes me think of the lovely new component smell. Which one did you get?
(, Sat 30 May 2009, 23:02, Reply)
As much of a beast as my payslip would allow.
To quote the lovely spec:
Inspiron 545 Minitower with Black Bezel
4096MB Dual Channel DDR2 800MHz [4x1024] Memory
256MB ATI® Radeon™ HD 3450 graphics card
500GB (7200rpm) SATA Hard Drive
Intel® Core™ 2 Duo E8400 processor (3.00GHz, 1333MHz, 6MB cache)

And when I came home, it was all set up and updated by my flatmate with everything installed (well, I pulled McAfee off it and put AVG back on with HijackThis and Spybot, but aside from that perfect).

He wanted to play with it too :)
I was on track and trace all morning at work to see if they'd delivered it or if I was going to have to go Customer From Hell at Dell. When it popped up that he'd signed for it I was so relieved!

Most excellent
We used to use the same carrier (Lynx) at work a couple of years ago - they really are awful. Dead cheap though for getting stuff to and from Ireland. Then when they delivered my laptop... reminded me why I always go and buy things in person. Four attempts at delivery, before they laft it in my greenhouse (and squashed my tomato plants too).

Got £100 off Dell though, which was nice.

Walsh Western, to my knowledge.
When I googled them, because I'd never heard of them, I found a whole site of cases of their crapness. Speaking as a customer relations monkey, I'm horrified Dell don't offer compensation or goodwill gestures in cases like these...

You have a go at them hard enough, they will
It's like getting blood from a stone though.

I'm familiar with Walsh Western too - they're on my blacklist as a part of Lynx. I'm very picky as to who I use as a carrier at work - I'd rather pay more and not make the money than it not get there at all and have an unhappy customer. Who will then shout at me. I dislike being shouted at.

mmm
I have been drinking and watching Dark City.

However the rum is upstairs with me, and the coke is downstairs in the fridge.

This means my current drink, although about the same size contains considerably more rum, and considerably less coke than when I started

Ahh, yes barman.
Single coke with rum please. Big glass. Thanks.

It's one of those things I remember vaguely seeing
After finding the video, I think it's something I'll have to watch properly.
(, Sat 30 May 2009, 23:14, Reply)
Heath Ledger is in it
which apparently instantly makes it one of the greatest films ever made.

Oh hang on, he didn't die till ages later. never mind

But!
But it has a dead man in! Anything he touched must be gold!

Happy memories of him in A Knights Tale though.
