Positive discrimination
Anyone in favour of it?

Even if by doing it some sort of barrier or culture gets changed that makes everything fairer in the future?

yay
lets talk about race again.

First person to say something stupid gets a patronising reply from me.

What do you do when you say something stupid?

(, Fri 5 Jun 2009, 13:46, Reply)
I expect abuse,

He just sits there all day banging his face against the monitor in penitance

The situation
I'm dealing with is one of gender, but the same applies really. The debate always gets dragged down into some sort of vicious flaming and/or trolling, so it's hard to know what people really, reasonably think.

I don't hink you can expect serious debate on this website.

Perhaps
Can't find one elsewhere either though, thought it was worth a try.

Everyone's got an agenda, and there is a shitload of bad science when it comes to gender equality.

Meritocracy, please.

(, Fri 5 Jun 2009, 13:47, Reply)
Wormulus endorses this.

Specious reasoning, totally inpracticle.

silly seb.

What?

(, Fri 5 Jun 2009, 14:04, Reply)
exactly.

(, Fri 5 Jun 2009, 14:05, Reply)
You make a persuasive argument

(, Fri 5 Jun 2009, 14:09, Reply)
I was impressed with your "what?" response

(, Fri 5 Jun 2009, 14:12, Reply)
Why?

(, Fri 5 Jun 2009, 14:14, Reply)
How about
if you were the ones benefitting?

Say, if you're a working class male, would you approve positive discrimination to get more of you into university?
(, Fri 5 Jun 2009, 13:51, Reply)
No such thing as positive discrimination in my book.
It's still discrimination, however you dress it up.
