Unfortunately it's just not feasible for me anytime soon, if ever. England probably wouldn't let me in.
Interestingly, I'm told there was a poll done not long ago which showed that, given a choice, about 3/4 of the population of England would expatriate. So maybe I'm best off staying put anyway...

it would probably be good for them (I regret not getting my kids to Europe before they were teenagers) to see there is more to the world than just the US. Of course if there are custody issues etc I imagine that could really complicate matters.

though they're not young- I now only have one under the age of eighteen.
Mostly for me it's more an issue of engineers not being in demand, having to be around for my kids while they're in university and until they get on their feet, and generally being tied to the US by family.
Part of the joys of being unemployed is having endless time to reflect upon your life and your options- and I'm not liking what I'm seeing in mine.

And there ain't shit out there for me. I've sent out scores of resumes and not heard anything back from anyone- they don't even give the courtesy of a "No thanks" message.
