I'd kind of sit in between....
I dont think its completely practical, but definitely wouldnt call it outmoded techwise (apart from the camera). As a shiny do-everything-phone, its rather good. (Considering getting one since my old phone is dieing and I have some cash that may well be coming in soon)

The iPhone is just a mid-range iPod with a shit phone built into it with a shamelessly piss-poor camera.

I'd recommend looking at the SE w995, which is their new flagship walkman phone but has an 8MP camera and can take a 16gb memory card.

and is less showy, in the same way a VW is to a BMW.

Ah, but...
all I want is an Ipod touch which I will actually bother to have with me for when i'm bored, as much for the games/apps/videos/internet as the music, and I want a decent amount of space on it (at least a few GB), also I much prefer using the web on a touchscreen phone to a keypad.

What feature sold you the Viewty?
