Hmm... do I move?

I’m staring redundancy in the face – but there is a promotion (with more money) and relocation expenses if I opt to move to Liverpool.
I don’t really want to leave Bristol, but if the only way to keep myself out the dole queue (and I’ve been in there before and it’s not a nice place – those there, you have my sympathy) then I’ll consider it.

So, my question is – if you had to relocate from /- insert current City /- to another British City, what one would you aim for and why?

Edinburgh has always seemed nice.

From where to where?

8 weeks to decide

Come to Liverpool!
We're not doing too badly, despite the recession, and we've just had a lick of paint.
Come join us. We won't nick your car*

*we might, if you leave it in a dark street with your stereo on show.

If you don't dislike the job, strongly consider it
Liverpool is an ace city!

If it wasn't so expensive
I'd have a little go at living in That Big London because everything's there and I like it.
I wouldn't really, because I'd have a nosebleed if I stayed away from home too long.

I don't think there is enough money
in the world for me to want to live in London.

I only mean for a short time.
I like chaos, noise and dirt.
And commuting would be a novelty too.

London is great
So great in fact that I'm looking at getting out of it!

If it was solely down to me
Then Edinburgh.

For work and social purposes - it shall be Aberdeen.

Mind you I've always fancied a stint in London. Bit too many blacks though....

Pah
I knew who it was that said it - the guy that annoys Alan in the lift!

Was merely quoting the series I lifted it from :)

'pool
is ok, but it is full of whiny voiced, overly sentimental scousers. If you like ridiculous looking young people look no further. Its a good night out tho, if only for tan mocking.

I'd do everything to leave Bristol though.

You have to know where to go
I am whiny and over-sentimental, but I am white as a ghost and know how to avoid the Oompa Loompa people.

Edinburgh, hands down
Although I suspect I would get pissed off at the festivallers and there only being about 4 days of sunshine per year. I lived in Bristol for a year too, and I would move back there in an instant - I thought it was lovely. Horfield is a shit tip though - some thieving pikey there still has my motorbike :(

Home is what you make of it. I'm in Birmingham for the next three years and it's really not as bad as everyone makes out, it depends on where you live and the friends you make and all of that other maudlin guff.

Good pubs help. And Liverpool's alright, bar the accent...

don't leave Bristol yet
- I still haven't met you, mostly because I don't go south of the river.
