a few year ago, whilst i was getting divorced, i went for a wee ride around europe... 4800miles in 4 weeks...including Bern to Ile de Noirmoutier in 1 day, a trip of about 700 miles...
crazy days!

even the bit where i almost crawled into the truck-motel at 8.30pm, soaking wet and freezing, tired beyond comprehension and then couldn't remember what country i was in so started talking gibberish to the bemused teenager behind the desk.
i was okay an hour later after a long, hot shower and some food.
but never again!!!

And get in the water. This is the disadvantage of not owning a vehicle.

Yesterday was spent going on a 20 mile walk (although the terrain was mostly flat). I made it but was one of the people at the back of the group towards the end. My legs fared well, pity about my feet. My feet were starting to hurt but have mostly recovered. We all went off to the village pub afterwards before heading back to London. Am now becoming addicted to Met-Walkers walks.
In other news, this is the first Sunday Morning Lie-in I've had in ages. EDIT: Got up at 12:15

On my way back to Liverpool after an amazing 24 hours in London. I'm sad to be leaving, but oh, what a time I had! I just did a squeal.

Does the Honda Accord have a crackhead-radar?
How was That London?
( , Sun 2 Aug 2009, 13:05, Reply)

That Big London was too amazing for words. I wish I could have stayed longer. I got lost and still had fun. I never got to the bottom of that Honda Accord meme, but when I found out I'd be travelling in one I was hysterical and my friend looked hurt and bewildered. How you doing?

My legs don't seem worse for the wear after my walk yesterday. Know what you mean about friends not getting Internet memes. In another forum I'm on, some guy in Mexico ended up having to try and explain to his office why he was laughing hysterically at some image-macro that combined a well-known Internet meme with a forum in-joke. I did not find out if he managed to explain it, but Kudos to him if he succeeded.

and am annoyed that another precious weekend is nearly over.
( , Sun 2 Aug 2009, 13:19, Reply)

Know that feeling all too well. All weekends seem to be good for these days is winding down. By the time you want to do something, it's Sunday evening. Bring on the 4-day working week say I!
( , Sun 2 Aug 2009, 13:25, Reply)

Make the weekend longer than the working week and all will be good :)
I have 3 days off in a couple of weeks' time and then it's all downhill to Paris... need more leave booking but my colleagues with kids have booked it all! Bah.
( , Sun 2 Aug 2009, 13:29, Reply)

but then my company announced they were imposing a ban on people booking holidays in the two months leading up to some important Industry trade-show. So I now have to wait until October for some time off.
( , Sun 2 Aug 2009, 13:54, Reply)

My leave allocation for the year expires on Oct 31 so I can see a lot of autumn weeks off to do fuck all coming.
( , Sun 2 Aug 2009, 14:02, Reply)

But my holiday allowance year starts just a few weeks after the start of October. And the good news is that they allow me to take unpaid leave too, so I'm booking an extra day off on top of my holiday allowance.

Despite being a raging drunken hussy last night, I still woke up at 7.30am. It will catch up with me tonight...
( , Sun 2 Aug 2009, 13:26, Reply)

and went to bed about 2 (I always say I'll finish what I'm doing and turn the PC off, but something always sucks me back in...)

that I had to google that. I've never seen any of the Godfather films, although Pot has promised to show me.

Unless you just want to laugh. Silvio from the Sopranos does a hilarious interpretation of that line. I think it's in Season 1...

I have a list of DVDs to watch as long as your arm, between the ones my flatmate keeps buying and the LOTR boxset that calls to me...
