Flies have dead simple action-reaction brains
Open a window and herd it out. It doesn't take much waving of arms to figure out how to wave in order to get the fly to go a certain way. I make a game out of it.
Of course if anyone is looking in through your window you will look like an epileptic semaphore officer.
