My contract with my broadband supplier is up in a few months and I think I'd like to change suppliers. I get a free router with my current one, but I have a netgear one in a cupboard that I'd rather use when I switch. My questions is, how easy is it to set up without a disc as I've moved several times since I got the netgear and have no idea on where the disc is.

The one I have is literally plug in and go. My netgear was set up by a mate who's good with computery stuff on my last laptop, but never on this. So would I need to do anything different with it, or is it just a case of plug it in and see what happens after I've downloaded the drivers?

There's a chance it'll be plug-and-play. If not, your new ISP should be able to talk you through your setup.

Edit: Nope. I can get broadband and phone, but not the whole deal

just download the drivers now before you change suppliers, you should be able to get them from the netgear website.

If you have had the netgear sat around for a while - it may need a firmware upgrade to make it work well with ADSL2+
We've had a couple of people regraded to ADSL2+ (using netgear) and it has been very hit and miss with connections speeds and stability until the firmware has been upgraded. Ideally, you need to do this before you switch supplier so that your 10 day line training period is training the line with the new firmware.
