Home Sweet Home
Tonight's question: Which Viz character would you say you're most like?

HOME SWEET HOME
(, Mon 10 Aug 2009, 19:05, 38 replies, latest was 16 years ago)
Me
I usually consider myself to be a Roger Irrelevant but after last pants-tastic weekend, I'd say I was Felix.
(, Mon 10 Aug 2009, 19:06, Reply)
I can't remember the last time
I read Viz. Shameful.
(, Mon 10 Aug 2009, 19:07, Reply)
Evening Mallie
Go stand in the shame-corner which is wallpapered with pages from the latest copy of Viz.

(, Mon 10 Aug 2009, 19:10, Reply)
Once you've perused, you can perambulate
and tell me who your favourite character is.
(, Mon 10 Aug 2009, 19:12, Reply)
As terrifying as it is
I identify most with Mrs Brady the Old Lady.
(, Mon 10 Aug 2009, 19:23, Reply)
But you're only 23
and it sounds like you don't even miss the old days (except perhaps your student days).
(, Mon 10 Aug 2009, 19:29, Reply)
I miss nothing before starting uni, really.
Lausanne, mostly, and I will go back there one day if it kills me! I am a total nostalgia fiend though, mostly musically.
(, Mon 10 Aug 2009, 19:34, Reply)
I too can be nostalgic sometimes
but the best kind of Nostalgia only occurs once you've completely forgotten about something.

Have never actually been to Lausanne, but have passed through it a couple of times.
(, Mon 10 Aug 2009, 19:44, Reply)
I live in a fluffy ball of it when I so wish.
Lausanne is beautiful; my photos thereof are here and I insist you experience it for yourself. Preferably in the crisp winter months.
(, Mon 10 Aug 2009, 19:53, Reply)
It does indeed look like it's made of awesome sauce
Have been to Geneva though. In fact, when I was small, even lived there for a few months.
(, Mon 10 Aug 2009, 20:04, Reply)
*jealouses*
I'm not overly familiar with Geneva; as amazing as Lausanne was, having Stalker Girl more or less permanently affixed to my personal space made travelling hard :(

Evening Spak & Mallers!
I don't even need to think for a second - I am Finnbar Saunders ;o)
(, Mon 10 Aug 2009, 19:34, Reply)
Evening sweary one!
Yes. Yes you are indeed. How is your now-quiet house?
(, Mon 10 Aug 2009, 19:34, Reply)
We are rattling around :(
At least Sweary Jr has a pal staying over tonight to wean us off gently.
(, Mon 10 Aug 2009, 19:51, Reply)
I wish I had a house big enough to accommodate many b3tans
although one will be paying a flying visit on the 28th!
(, Mon 10 Aug 2009, 19:53, Reply)
I could theoretically accomodate that many b3tans in my studio flat
but I'd have to nail some of them to my ceiling.
(, Mon 10 Aug 2009, 20:05, Reply)
Well, since we no longer have a spare room
it's a bit more difficult. And I don't think my flatmate would like a bunch of randoms being in his bed!
(, Mon 10 Aug 2009, 20:10, Reply)
As well as nails, you should use superglue
or leave the patch of ceiling above your flatmate's bed empty.

Evening b3taMum
Finbarr suits you the best, but in Edinburgh, you were doing Johnny Fartpants. Are you going to gradually work your way through all of Viz?

Oh and nice boardsig by the way.
(, Mon 10 Aug 2009, 19:36, Reply)
Likewise, nice board sig of yours :)
Yes, I can multi-task and do a hybrid of Finbarr, Johnny Fartpants and Terry Fuckwit, with a bit of Biffa Bacon's Mutha thrown in.

Reg, our hamster, is Buster Gonad, for he has unfeasably large testicles. Where did you get to on Saturday night after the Tap & Spile? I hope you managed to avoid the meat markets ;o)

Tourette's
Hello, it's your pillow here :)
(, Mon 10 Aug 2009, 20:02, Reply)
Ooh, hello lovely lady Queen of teh caramel slice!
*smooshes*
(, Mon 10 Aug 2009, 20:06, Reply)
Boy oh boy
never have I (been) driven so far to go to the pub, but it was worth it.
WORTH IT!
(, Mon 10 Aug 2009, 20:07, Reply)
It must've been a 14 hour round trip for you and Wookiee
I'm SOOOOOOOOO glad you came, it was a fab night and it's always a tonic getting together with you (pl) :)
(, Mon 10 Aug 2009, 20:11, Reply)
It was about 14 hours of driving, plus train time too.
Totally worth it. I loved being able to see you.
(, Mon 10 Aug 2009, 20:30, Reply)
So was Tourette's bed made up entirely of b3tans?

(, Mon 10 Aug 2009, 20:13, Reply)
Nope
Just me.

:)
(, Mon 10 Aug 2009, 20:18, Reply)
Yay! It's Tourette's the one-woman Viz-machine
Just went straight back to my hotel after the bash. The next day was spent exploring the parks and riverside area in a semi-hungover state, and then jumping on a train south.
(, Mon 10 Aug 2009, 20:10, Reply)
Ah, yes,
it's a pretty park and a nice stretch of river. Did you feed the ducks?
(, Mon 10 Aug 2009, 20:12, Reply)
Didn't have anything to feed them with
but because Morpeth was nice and compact, so I got an eyefull before my train came.
(, Mon 10 Aug 2009, 20:24, Reply)
I've never read Vis before.

(, Mon 10 Aug 2009, 20:01, Reply)
MOAR SMUT

(, Mon 10 Aug 2009, 20:02, Reply)
Come to our house,
I've been papering the stair walls with Viz.
(, Mon 10 Aug 2009, 20:06, Reply)
It's great.
One of my old housemates used to read it on the toilet and kept piles of them in the bathroom for this very purpose!
(, Mon 10 Aug 2009, 20:11, Reply)
It's a great way of doing social-commentary using the medium of Toilet Humour
Several years ago, they had an article on the declining standards of textbook de-facement. Instead of drawing giant cocks on their R.E. textbooks, the pupils were giving the people in the illustrations speech-bubbles saying things like "WAZZAAP!" and "All your base are belong to us!".

Probably Roger Mellie last weekend
Because I've foregone a summer holiday to spend 5 days of splendid cricket at Headingley.

And by 15.00 yesterday I was back at home. So may I provide a brief summary in the style of Roger Mellie:-

Strauss - Rabbit in the headlights. If you're going to captain (and I don't doubt your ability) DON'T go to fucking pieces when it all goes wrong.
Cook - Grow some bollocks.
Bopara - Fuck off and don't ever come back.
Collingwood - You're better than that you bone idle bastard.
Bell - See Bopara. You can't be bothered playing properly so I can't be bothered explaining why you're so disliked properly.
Prior - You tried, I suppose.
Broad - You're a transvestite, but an acceptable one.
Swann - Throw the ball at the sticks you daft cunt.
Anderson - Oh...were you actually playing? Excuse me for not noticing.
Harmison - Fucking waste of Sidebottom space.
Onions - Give me a reason not to stab you to death in a dark alley.

Rant over.

Mr Logic
What other people call "being pedantic" I simply refer to as "being right".

Mr Logic is the exception to the rule that all the best Viz characters rhyme.
