just had a phone call from the mortgage people. House has been valued and is worth only a little less than it was before!
Huzzah! this means I can remortgage!

but this isn't smugness, it's relief. I was worrying about it a fair amount

I've got another three years before I have to worry about such things.

with my gf having had to take a paycut and stuff, but we've fixed for another 2.5 years at only slightly higher rate, so it's a big relief. The variable rate we would have got wasn't very good to start with, and I can see them rising in the not too distant future.

My flat is worth a little more than it used to be but only a fucking lunatic would let me remortgage. I can't even afford the bus to get to the bank to apply...

we at least have a nice house, I shudder to think what has happened to the value of the flat we sold. we made a killing on it, compared to when we bought it, but I feel bad for the poor bloke who bought it from us.

was a 1st time buyer in 2007, poor cunt.
Almost definitely in negative equity. In the part of London I live in this is pretty much guaranteed never to happen, thank fuck.
I just need to hang on to it long enough to make a decent profit (well it's more than doubled in value in the 9 years I've been there but I've already cashed in about 40k and most of that went up my nose, twat that I am). This is not proving easy.

just hope he had a sizeable deposit (fnarr)
fortunately my gf keeps a bit of a rein on my spending. I'm doing quite well budgeting my pot habit too which helps

Which compared to my teenage and college years is practically none at all. The thing is it's mainly Thai (actually it's from Laos, we checked out the language on the packaging of a kilo) and it's too easy to get through. Occasionally there's some speciality hash (did you see any of that Afghan that had 'OBAMA' stamped on it? Hilarious).
sorry /DRUGBORE

I'm actually making a quarter last several weeks these days, depends on how much other people have got too I guess, but I certainly feel like I'm getting my fill.
tends to be pretty strong stuff though, which helps.

I lived with one at uni. great times. it upsets my gf slightly that we got the same degree (I actually scored slightly higher) despite being stoned every single night except for a month or so at the end.

There was a lad on the same course as me (Classical Civilisation, very useful in life...) who'd read the reading list over the summer each year, cycled everywhere and even did volunteer work helping old grannies and the like on his weekends. I was pretty much married to my bong and rarely moved apart from to the fridge or lavatory....poor cunt got the same degree as me. I felt genuine pity - he was simply crap at exams.

One way to get an idea of how your house is standing up to the recession...
-11.5% in 18 months, bollocks.

They the same size as mine, although far more modern and the agent is asking 100k more than I paid for my flat last year!!
They must be insane!

they opened some above a new shopping precinct in central exeter a couple of years back, people camped in the streets for 3 days to buy one. £290k for a two bed flat. Shortly after that they couldn't sell the remaining ones.
craziness
