That's an awful question.
Although I'm kinda wondering now... "Women are better at cooking"... Seems fair enough... But why are so few women high-quality professional chefs?

I think that's more to do with being able to swear profusely than actual cooking skills.

(, Thu 3 Sep 2009, 9:49, Reply)
Pffft,
I've met plenty of women who swear enough to make a sailor blush.
(, Thu 3 Sep 2009, 9:50, Reply)
That says more about the kind of women you hang out with ; )

Hmmm...
Maybe...

Because cheffing is still largely a glass ceiling-ed profession for women.
That said - the head chef at my work for the last six months was a woman. She was pretty fantastic.

Don't get me confused with a northener.

(, Thu 3 Sep 2009, 9:53, Reply)
You're all northern from where I am mate.
You're about as far north as it can get.

Just for that,
I'm gonna find a way of making several tonnes of CFC's.
(, Thu 3 Sep 2009, 9:57, Reply)
awww I love you too...
from the bottom of my cold black heart.
(, Thu 3 Sep 2009, 10:00, Reply)
You'll need
several tonnes of hydrocarbons, chlorine, fluorine and some catalyst.

There are several well documented processes.
(, Thu 3 Sep 2009, 10:01, Reply)
Can you just make me some?

(, Thu 3 Sep 2009, 10:03, Reply)
nah love,
that requires EFFORT. :P
(, Thu 3 Sep 2009, 10:07, Reply)
I used to fanny about
with such things, but the lab I was in has been taken over by the dark side (biochemistry) and the bloke I worked with who was an expert at CFC chemistry has gone off and done his own thing. So I can't do it these days.
(, Thu 3 Sep 2009, 10:08, Reply)
Ah.
They don't make aerosols like they used to :(
(, Thu 3 Sep 2009, 10:09, Reply)
I still have a can at home
of 'proper' contact cleaner. With real nasty CFCs and everything.

I use some every so often just because I can.

Celebrity chefs tend to come out of the restaurant trade
which is notorious for it's rotten working hours and conditions - most women have family commitments.

People like Nigella came from a journalism background.

That seems a fair answer.

And don't forget
she's also a drunken football hooligan.
(, Thu 3 Sep 2009, 10:03, Reply)

That's what gets replies. Well, that and lesbians.
