My mouse doesn't fit in it's charger station thingy anymore. If I get a pair of copper wires and tape them to the charger points on the mouse and the charger will that work? Or would I be wasting my time and money?
Little help please b3tans.
Thanks

It's just a peice of shit as far as I can tell. It's so huge MrKitty calls it the rat. The first time ir 5 it charged fine, since then it's been getting progressively more shit and held together with rubberbands when charging and now seems to have just given up. I secretly hate it but MrKitty loves it so I thought I'd ask you lit for help.
Thanks for your answers. Now it's 2am here and I'm going to sleep.

You only have to make sure the electricity/magic can flow, so copper wires should suffice (are the contacts on the charging station made from copper?)

Secondly, as Chomp said, exposed wires are fun. But the current flowing to charge your mouse should be minimal, so should be safe.
Thirdly, it should be fine, just don't use hugely thick wire.

Surely a slightly thicker wire is preferable - I'm sure you're right in that it's only a small charge flowing to the mouse, but if the resistance of the wire is inversely proportional to its cross-sectional area, surely a slightly thicker wire will heat up less and therefore be less of a hazard?

Will the thicker wire not present a greater resistance though?

I know it can seem counter-intuitive, but as I said, the resistance is inversely proportional to its cross-sectional area, so as the wire gets thicker, the resistance goes down.
Think about it like a given volume of water flowing through a pipe - the same amount of water would meet less physical resistance flowing through a fatter pipe than through a narrower one. It's a similar situation with the flow of electrons.

I'm losing my physics knowledge. I really should know these things.

If you can get it to glow hot, that means it's working better.
Edit: balls.

That I didn't say use the thinnest wire, just not overly thick wire.

Why doesn't it fit any more?
I can't bring myself to do a poo until I find out.
