I'm sitting in the dark
I'm not keen on this shorter day lark.

In other news I've successfully forwarded my port - hooray for me (everyone else seems to be posting computering questions so I thought I'd tell you all about how I fixed something myself with only the help of the power that is Google).

Now tell me what you do or don't like about this time of year.

Being unbelievably busy at work
/3 month-long work-raping

That's something I don't like, by the way
I'm clearly out of practice att his whole social interaction malarkey

Three interesting facts about yourself now please, NOOB

Bloody hell, pressure
1. I was once on Countdown
2. My favourite word is woggle
3. My running style has been described as being similar to that of a pregnant penguin
4. I can never stop counting at 3

Woggle is a good word
I'm rather fond of snigger.
(, Wed 28 Oct 2009, 17:39, Reply)
I think the double g adds a certain je ne sais quoi

Jiggle and giggle go together
like buggery and snuggery.

There's a house in Faversham called The Snuggery - it's right in the corner. I wonder if much buggery goes on there?

EDIT and shrubbery. Buggery in the shrubbery.

Cor, that's a blast from the past
hardly every hear that word anymore because it's too close to snigger.

Great sound though and it'd work really well in a snarky bit of poetry.

I like the cold, the dark and the wet
it makes me feel snuggly, and when the christmas lights go up because it makes places feel magical.

But I hate wearing my vest and galoshes.

There is a certain romanticism in winter
all that snuggling and open fires.

And spending a wet Sunday afternoon in the pub next to a roaring fire.

LEAVES!
I leaf-kicked my way through one of the lawns on campus today and the leaves were just below my knees.
Afterwards, there were no bugs IN my shoes and no poo ON my shoes. Bonus.

The sunny weather and the amazing sunsets are worth suffering dark nights too.
(, Wed 28 Oct 2009, 17:30, Reply)
Haha!
you did it! Hearty congratulations abound, you're now an official nerd

EDIT I'm going home for a poo. Bye!

I was just telling young Flinge-Flange that by this time next week I shall be running Microsoft
(That's the only big name of computers I know. Don't start telling me why I ought to be running something else. I'm not really a nerd. Nerds are fucking hawt though.)

I like
lighting the stove (because my logs are just sawn up furniture so they don't get stolen) and sitting in front of the stove drinking either red wine or a nice beer and listening to the "rawrrrrrrrrrrr" noise it makes when things burn.

The shorter day thing sucks hippocock though. Also, I keep waking up an hour too early since the clocks went back.

I want a stove
My friend has a house in Cumbria with a stove, and I'm allowed to stay there.
I don't know how to light a stove...
(, Wed 28 Oct 2009, 17:36, Reply)
I too like lighting the stove
with the paltry remains that weren't nicked by the local pikeys.
(, Wed 28 Oct 2009, 17:41, Reply)
Why not just light a pikey
And then throw him on the stove :D
(, Wed 28 Oct 2009, 17:43, Reply)
Someone did suggest
that I slaver the logs in shite so they'd be left alone - I think this is similar thinking. They'd both smell.
(, Wed 28 Oct 2009, 17:45, Reply)
I like it when it's cold and dark
As long as it doesn't start raining. And by 'start', I mean 'continue until March'.
(, Wed 28 Oct 2009, 17:40, Reply)
I still can't bloody see though!
It's like I've got candles lit rather than electricity.

Damn you climate change and your crap energy saving bulbs!
(, Wed 28 Oct 2009, 17:44, Reply)
For this, I suggest a headtorch
I also meant to offer congratulations and rewards for solving a computer thing without coming and asking for help here. Well done.
(, Wed 28 Oct 2009, 17:45, Reply)
Ta
Next week I will get myself a job working for BT.

I always get a feeling of dread when the seasons change from summer to autumn and winter.
Also I hate snow.
Snow can fuck right the fuck off.

Like many others
I like lighting the fire in the living room, and snuggling up with something warm with a nice glass of alcoholic beverage. particularly when you can hear a storm outside, there is something about the rain that makes it extra nice.
(, Wed 28 Oct 2009, 18:54, Reply)
Hope you light it in the fireplace
and you're not a tramp ;)
(, Wed 28 Oct 2009, 18:59, Reply)
I got told off when I tried to light one in the middle of the floor
Didn't like the carpet and wanted to burn it. My more sensible thirds talked the lighter out of my hand...
