Soooo bloody expensive, and I know it would cost more if you went to see them all separately etc etc.
But right now I do not have £157.50.
Grrr. Wait til I show my bets mate. She'll sell our kidneys to go.

but it's Iron Maiden, so I have to go. My mrs and I had been carefully saving this year, and recently we have spunked over £300 on these tickets. bought a big flat TV and booked a two week holiday...

it's going to be awesome. hopefully I won't have to see any other fuckers for 2 whole weeks.

my mate gave me a £200 pair of Canon binoculars as well which is nice.

I bought a modest set last year in Skye, and they are so bright and crystal clear to look through, a pure joy. If you can get a monoped with an attachment for the binoculars, you are onto a winner. Bracing them against an object isn't always convenient, plus it is well handy for the camera, in fact, shouldn't it BE for the camera and HANDY for the binoculeers.

recommend a mono-ped, or one of those gorilla tripod things?

Plus you could use it as a handy weapon to bludgeon any troublemakers with.
Manfrotto are the 'big dicks' in the tripod/monopod world, so if you have some moolah to burn then check out what they have on offer.
However, depending on what you are doing, a tripod may not be a bad idea either. i swear by mine. You can set up and just leave it be and wander about, skin up etc, very useful if you have an SLR with a telephoto lens.
The handy added bonus is you can use it to film homemade pr0n.

Classic Rock Magazine are starting one in Victoria Park (just a few minutes' walk from my house) next July. The mighty ZZ Top are headlining one day (oh yes) - but sadly pitiful prog wankers Emerson, Lake and fucking Palmer the next.
I'm going to go to the first one. Anyone want to join me?
I'll have a party afterwards...

with a fuck off big tent, a king size air mattress and a load of duvets and pillows
although when at a festival I tend not to take those things.

and woken up covered with dew.
A mate of mine fell asleep standing up in the middle of a field with a blanket over his head.

But I think it's only to go downhill from here, and the rest of the bands won't be as good. There's only 2 bands there I want to see, the rest I just wouldn't mind.
Bloodstock is keeping my attention though!

only wanted to see Metallica and Alice in Chains, but had a great time.
some of the unknown (to me) bands were great

tickets sold out in 12 minutes when they went on sale before I'd heard them.
yet again, opportunity to call some of my mates cunts as a couple of them are going

Been a good few years since I've seen 'em though. Can't be affording this festival lark again this year though and the four days spent drinking in a field is no longer sustainable for me. I tend to a shivering inhuman wreck of a man by Sunday night interested in nothing more than a shower and a proper bed.
(, Thu 10 Dec 2009, 14:21, Reply)
and they blew me away. I've recently been listening to them more again and my Mrs has got well into it, so had to jump at the chance.

the epic coach journey there and brush with the locals upon arrival only served to make us more grateful. They had within temptation (shit) and Dream Theatre (awesome) as support. Easily one of the best gigs I've ever been to.
Intrigued by Roskilde, but did a festival in Germany year before last and the hassle of doing it aboard was almost enough to put me off for life.

while a student. the whole abroad thing made for an excellent experience. particularly how available pot and mushrooms were in the middle of copenhagen.
