And it's not RROD so i have to pay Micro$oft to fix it. And all they accept is credit cards. I don't have a credit card.
Anybody else been in this situation? I have emailed the support team to find out where I stand.

His broke and had that problem also it was mega expensive to get them to fix it. (student) so he just bought a new one. So basically what I'm saying is look at how much it is and see if its worth it. Also, get someone you know pay for it on credit card? I did that a number of times with various things. Hope you get it sorted soon.

If it less than 3 years old, it is the responsibility of the retailer you bought it from to ensure it is of a suitable quality for sale (i.e. will last a reasonable time before it breaks).
Take it back to where you bought it with a receipt and you can insist they repair it free of charge.

I had this exact problem - my graphics chip melted through overuse I believe. Anyway I just nipped to Argos and bought a 130 quid Arcade - also meant I didn't have to wait at all for the jerk-bags to fix anything.
