It's official.
Email from a catalogue I order from.

We just wanted to let you know we’ve received your order and everything is running smoothly. Thanks for shopping at laredoute.co.uk. When it comes to style, you’ve clearly got great taste!

When did you last get recognition of your ability to dress well?

I never do.
It's terrible news.

I like what you're wearing in your profile pic.

1992
Grunge was in fashion so for once, so was I.

grunge is totally coming back in the form of a "shoegaze revival" that actually includes alot of cool grunge bands or whatever they were. 1992's gonna come crashing back in. I've pre-empted the game by buying a couple of Moose 12"s at the weekend. Well weapon.

I'm not sure if it was meant as a compliment, but I cartainly took it as one.
Apparently, my taste in clothes is sort of redneck meets grunge meets biker. Or so I've been told.

I'm known
as the 'Spanish Fisherman' at university. I think that's a good thing. Probably not.

You walk around in oilskins and open neck shirts?

I love a nice spanish fisherman, all smelling of anchovies, sweat, salt and pernod with his big hairy beard.

My hat got admired the other day
It's a green wax shooting hat from M&S with ear flaps. It either gets admired or reviled (more often reviled).

Black tie
I was recently at our company xmas bash which was black tie for the men and evening gowns for the ladies. The only other group at the hotel was the Ferrari owners club, all of whom were in the same garb but the men were wearing the owners club bow ties. At the end of the evening all the owners club guys were pulling at their bow ties (elasticated) in the usual sweaty end of the evening ritual of all men in their predicament (too much alcomahol and bad dancing). I, on the other hand, merely undid mine. I think the sight of a man in evening dress with his bow tie undone must be the equivalent of female viagra as I was groped more times in the last half hour by ladies I hadn't been introduced to than previously in my entire life!
The GF quite likes it too.

I've been Captain Psychedelic in fucking Droitwich Spa for the last five years. I deserve a revival. My boots and flappy jacket will be cool before they wear out. They will be.
