though, unless you have the world's worst luck, or are just a complete moron, the chances of losing something that you didnt back-up when prompted aren't worth the time.

To be honest, it wouldn't
But I didn't really read the original post properly. It would mostly just be a huge annoyance having never bothered to back-up numbers.
