That's the surprising thing about it. Tati was inventive enough when making it that it doesn't get boring.

I think the closest thing in English film would be a silent version of a Norman Wisdom film.

I only remember him
from university lectures with snippets of film (Modern Languages undergrad).

His stuff was fucking awesome though, as I remember.
