I have been doing work.

I had a fucking unbelievable nightmare with the mother of my kid this weekend culminating in me not seeing Eleni at all.

I am so angry, frustrated and upset I could fucking cry mate.

It's Greek
same root as Helen, Eleanor etc - which are my grandmother's and sister's names respectively. Her mum's family are Greek too so it was the perfect name - it's pretty much the only thing we ever agreed on...

Are you sitting down?
1. i was going to babysit so her mum could go to a local gig - I was to go round between 4:30 and 5, to feed and bathe Eleni and then mother was going to gig: stage time 8:30

2. I'm outside her house at 4:45 - no answer from door nor phone. I sigh and go home - on the way I get a call 'I thought you'd call first, I'm still out' WHY? 'Can you come at 6:15 instead?

3. I'm on my way at 6:05, when 'sorry I don't want her getting excited by you coming round, can you come at 8?'. I sigh and go home AGAIN. I then go back at 8. 'I have to go, they're on very soon, not sure what time I'll be back'. I thought fair enough, you don't know when the show finishes.

4. I wake up on her sofa - it's 1am so I text her - when are you coming back. Nothing. I call - straight to answerphone. I keep trying as I'm fully awake now.

5. She finally comes home at 6am, having 'been asleep at her cousin's'. Rather fucked off, I walk home (fuck all buses around, it's 6a-fucking-m).

6. I text at 9:30 saying 'I'm going to come for my visit to see Eleni a bit later as I am exhausted' and grab an extra hour or so in bed.

7. I wake up to this reply 'your visit is at 10am. if you can't be bothered to make it on time then you're a shit dad, you can fuck off' etc etc.

So I'm kept up all night due her irresponsibility and then have my visit cancelled as a result. I have since had a good dozen texts telling me how shit a father I am and how I can fuck off.

Weekend ruined. Monty heartbroken.

Sounds like a one way street there mate. On one hand you both seem to be making the best of it, eg, you doing the babysitting, her getting out with her pals, you being patient and putting up with her multiple time changes. Then, when you ask for a bit of leeway, it is used as a stick to bash your head in with.

1 - Why shouldn't your daughter get 'excited', it's Saturday night for fuck sake, toddlers can cope with going to bed a little later every now and again. You're babysitting after all, you should be able to call at least some of the shots. Does your ex have a monopoly on toddler based fun and excitement?

2 - Fell asleep at her cousin's(!)
