We're considering Dover port off to the French.
At least, according to the Daily Fail. This is one of the website comments, dunno how tongue in cheek it is.
"Good Heavens - Another bit of Great Brian plc being sold off to 'Johnny Foreigner'. Whatever next the Crown Jewels? Don't suppose it will stop until there is nothing left to sell."
Any idea what else we can sell? I'd go for Prince Edward.

Why stop there?
I think we'd get a better price for the whole royal family as a job-lot.

I like Prince Philip, I must admit.
He's funny.
(, Tue 9 Feb 2010, 10:15, Reply)
True, I'd keep Phil
the rest however are no fun at all.

I would like to answer
but my doctor forbids me to have anything to do with the Daily Fail, on account of the blood pressure and throbbing veins of anger in my skull.

I'd part exchange them Wales for Le trois Valley

So I could go skiing here in Blighty
(, Tue 9 Feb 2010, 10:18, Reply)
Wales goes without saying.
Kent too.
(, Tue 9 Feb 2010, 10:23, Reply)
I'm definitely selling my shares in 'Great Brian plc'

Morning Monty. Haha, I never noticed that.
I won't bother correcting the twunt's spelling, I'll just leave it in it's glorious not very goodness.
Edit, he's probably a LOL shirter.
(, Tue 9 Feb 2010, 10:26, Reply)
Good day to you, sir.
A definite shirter, I'd say - and indeed a LOL shirter to boot.

I did this on /talk yesterday

they gathered some of the more mental comments.

People are spectacularly stupid
Also Dover is quite possibly the worst place on Earth, just below Gary Glitters anus on the list of worst holiday destinations
(, Tue 9 Feb 2010, 10:36, Reply)
I've only been there to catch the ferry.
Not actually seen the place.
(, Tue 9 Feb 2010, 10:37, Reply)
This is a very sensible reply
and makes me think that you have actually considered holidaying either in Dover or Gary Glitter's shitter
(, Tue 9 Feb 2010, 10:46, Reply)
It's full of FORRIN asylum seekers.
As is Dover.
(, Tue 9 Feb 2010, 10:50, Reply)
The story is, of course, bollocks.
tabloid-watch.blogspot.com/2010/02/no-white-cliffs-of-dover-are-not-being.html

The most we can say is that there's been vague talk of possibly looking into privatising the port, and it's possible that a French company could make a bid if any such privatisation goes ahead.

Odd, isn't it, how the normally pro-private business Mail gets all pro-nationalised business just as soon as some Forrins are involved...
(, Tue 9 Feb 2010, 10:40, Reply)
Most of the downrated comments are along the lines of
"well, that's thatcherism for you isn't it?"
(, Tue 9 Feb 2010, 10:41, Reply)
You've got to love the bloke who seems to think
that Germany will have won the Second World War if France were to purchase a cliff from us.
(, Tue 9 Feb 2010, 10:47, Reply)

I hope they do win.
Glass coffee tables in every home, no more shaving, sauerkraut for breakfast...
(, Tue 9 Feb 2010, 10:51, Reply)
Time to put the cliff on eBay
I've got a few German friends who I'm sure can be talked round...

*searches for hidden bratwurst*

(, Tue 9 Feb 2010, 11:00, Reply)
I'll help you "hide some bratwurst"
*vink vink nudge nudge*
(, Tue 9 Feb 2010, 11:10, Reply)
I can't WAIT to be German!

(, Tue 9 Feb 2010, 11:12, Reply)
I'm part german anyway
They'll love me.
(, Tue 9 Feb 2010, 11:14, Reply)
What part?
Is it your moustache?
