My contract's coming up for upgrade soon and I would like to get my sweaty mitts on a smartphone. Rather than doing the legwork myself, I'm taking the lazy option and asking the internet. Anybody know of any good models or what OS I should be avoiding?

for 25-30 a month and although I've been a Sony-Ericsson man up until now, they seem to be losing their edge, so I'm easy on that front.

Got one free on contract. I like it because:

a) it's nothing to do with apple and iTunes.
b) it pisses apple fanboys off when they say "Yes, but your can your phone do this?" "Why yes it can, faster, cheaper and easier than your iphone!"
c) I has Tomtom for my car on it.
d) did I mention I don't have to have itunes just to listen to music and load apps?
