I normally hate sports but like being stoned in front of the tv late at night
and so am a sucker for this winter olympics thing just started particularly if there's a possibility of death or injury , all good so far , but last night they kept on calling luge and bobsleigh 'the sliding events' and saying people were really good sliders and talking about their sliding career . Is this a new thing this season or have I just never noticed before ?

Did you watch the opening ceremony?

Sliding?? Sounds insulting
It seems to make a mockery of the so called "sport" that these people have dedicated their young lives to if it's referd to as sliding. Isn't sliding what kids do on an icy patch of path for fun?

Have you gone off at a tangent here
or are you still talking about the winter olympics?

Skating On Thin Ice.
Now THAT'S a spectator sport.
(, Mon 15 Feb 2010, 16:44, Reply)
how is it scored?
timed survival? crashing through the ice style points (like high board diving?). extra bonus points if you eliminate a competitor?

could be great fun to watch.
