my starter included foie gras. I've decided that I'd happily stuff a goose to death myself to get just a small portion.

If someone puts an apparently unethical food in front of me and it tastes good, I'm not going to turn it away. It's already dead, it's already been through whatever process has got it to my plate, and it tastes great. Why would I disrespect whatever life it had by not fulfilling its worldly purpose?
I was vegetarian for 28 years and I know every counter argument to this, but I don't really care any more. If that makes me a bastard, so be it.
Incidentally, if you have an halal butcher near you, go in and ask for some lamb keema mince with onion and chili and make thin burgers or sausages with it. You won't regret it.

if it is raised on a farm instead of a factory where it is kept in a very small dark cage while being force fed too much milk.
Foie gras however, sorry geese, but it's too damn good.

Just don't think my decision to think otherwise is pure folly.
