The name derives from when it was a bustling market town.
The streets were always full of horses and carts carrying their wares to market, making it difficult to cross the roads safely. It became known as the Murder Path, hence, Morpeth.

It's just tainted with memories of an awful girl, an awful relationship and a truely awkward weekend staying with her folks (who hated me for no reason). I'm really good at meeting the inlaws and get on with everyone...
