in that there t'other thread, but you might not see it now you've moved on to greener, er, threads.
The answer was yes, but within reason.

I was mostly just curious. but also considering that I need more stylish suits, and having someone make them would be awesome :-D

I think it might be a bit out of my league. I'm afraid you'd probably be better getting a professional tailor to make you one. Sorry! I can upcycle a readymade suit into something more awesome, but that's about the extent of my capability.

I was daydreaming mostly :-)
one day I will have enough cash to get a wardrobe full of bespoke 3 piece suits though!

even just one can make all the difference. Same with women and really fantastic dresses

you could send it to me and I'll make it awesome again. Maybe add the Batman logo to the collar.
Or embroider Vipros into the trouser hem.

I love that suit.
it weren't cheap though, and as such I am wary of wearing it as often as I might like.
Really I need some vintage tweed for every day wear

the boys will love it too...

Tried it on and it's as if it was tailor made for me. PLUS - it was only £40!!!
I just don't know if I can pull it off...
(, Wed 3 Mar 2010, 15:05, Reply)
just do not go the whole hog. A few of my mates have taken a stereotype to heart and gone tweed with cravats, appropriate footwear, handkerchiefs, canes and spectacles. I don't have the heart to tell them they look like twats

the above suit fit me beautifully straight off the rack and was exactly what I had in mind, which is why I felt justified in almost doubling my suit budget to get it.

to make them sexy again, any tailor would be able to do that quite cheaply.

one of them cost me £6, one was a cream linen job from Primark for £30 and the other was an ordinary M&S job, with not a lot of style to it.

(since we're asking clothing questions) to get a dress let out at the bust. i.e. to modify a dress that fits perfectly everywhere but the bust?
(, Wed 3 Mar 2010, 15:21, Reply)
because you can only let it out as much as the seam allowance will give. So, if it's a dress with four or five darts in the bust area then it can be let out quite a lot, but if it doesn't have any, it will only allow it to be taken out by the amount of seam there is, usually around a cm or so. Other than that you can only modify it with extra panels of fabric, but depending on the dress that could ruin the look of it.
