I'm having the perfect weekend, destruction and drinking.
First time this year with decent weather forcast, I'm getting my trusty axe out to cut some trees down with my real life buddies.

We are off to Pamber forest to get bladdered and try not to kill ourselves.

Daytime here: www.hwt.org.uk/pages/pamber-forest-r.html
Evening here: maps.google.co.uk/maps/place?hl=en&um=1&ie=UTF-8&q=the+plough+little+london&fb=1&gl=uk&hq=The+Plough&hnear=The+Plough&cid=5740001692326771623

Life is grand.

What are you guys going to be doing this weekend? I'm off at noon, so get typing.

shout Freebird non-stop throughout the gig
(, Fri 5 Mar 2010, 9:25, Reply)
There's only about one original member left I fear
Still, should be good nonetheless.
(, Fri 5 Mar 2010, 9:25, Reply)
Yep, sadly only one left .
Just been watching some 2010 gigs on youtube though, it's still good.

Do they have the fellow from Blackfoot in them now?
He's fucking cool.

Isn't he the lost causes guy?

(, Fri 5 Mar 2010, 9:21, Reply)
Yup
He's my homeboy
(, Fri 5 Mar 2010, 9:25, Reply)
What is distinctive about St Jude's costume that makes it recognisable?

(, Fri 5 Mar 2010, 9:33, Reply)
He gave up making it halfway through cos he couldn't sew.

(, Fri 5 Mar 2010, 9:35, Reply)
Totally this
Nah, he has a flame on his head and a GIANT medallion of Jesus, rapper-sized.
And he has a mop-pole (staff). Mine will be a mop-pole.

Nuffin much.
Going to see the new Alice in Wonderland film with my nephew.
(, Fri 5 Mar 2010, 9:24, Reply)
Please give us a report
I want to see it, but only if its not crap.

Does your nephew think you are a cool aunty, or an embarrasing one?
(, Fri 5 Mar 2010, 9:30, Reply)
Cool of course as he's only 9.
Another few years and he'll be cringing with embarrasement at everthing me and his bonkers mum say and do.
(, Fri 5 Mar 2010, 9:40, Reply)
Daytime 'date' tomorrow
Sunday seeing my little'un, all being well.

Looks good, eh chums?
(, Fri 5 Mar 2010, 9:27, Reply)
You're allowed out in daylight?
I thought you might evaporate or something?
(, Fri 5 Mar 2010, 9:31, Reply)
Maybe I will.
WE JUST DON'T KNOW.
(, Fri 5 Mar 2010, 9:34, Reply)
That is cool

(, Fri 5 Mar 2010, 9:36, Reply)
Good luck Monty.
Just don't go near any jumper shops.
(, Fri 5 Mar 2010, 9:41, Reply)
It's the 'shirts' I'm most wary of

(, Fri 5 Mar 2010, 9:45, Reply)
Yup, be careful.
Everybody shirts.
(, Fri 5 Mar 2010, 9:54, Reply)
A cursory glance into the bars around my area
would confirm your suspicions in no time at all.
(, Fri 5 Mar 2010, 10:06, Reply)
Shopping and seeing Avatar with kiddo tomorrow.
Cooking and walking on Sunday. There will be sleep involved.

One thing I certainly won't be doing is posting my exact location for the whole weekend on an internet site filled with benders and paedos. I'm far too pretty.
(, Fri 5 Mar 2010, 9:34, Reply)
Bugger!

(, Fri 5 Mar 2010, 9:42, Reply)
That's what he's trying to avoid.
The poor fellow has no idea about the tracking device I've concealed in his phone, bless him.

Don't forget, I'm carrying an axe.
(, Fri 5 Mar 2010, 9:44, Reply)

(, Fri 5 Mar 2010, 9:51, Reply)

probably smoke myself insensible tonight
surfing tomorrow if it's not flat, followed by hosting my brother's burger-related birthday bash at my house, because he has moved to a town where old people go to die, and no one wants to go visit him there.

going to see gf's sister on sunday, then dinner at my parents' place.

action packed weekend. shame it's so full of relatives.
(, Fri 5 Mar 2010, 9:40, Reply)
Will any children be calling you 'Beard'?

(, Fri 5 Mar 2010, 9:43, Reply)
more than likely

(, Fri 5 Mar 2010, 9:44, Reply)
They'll be calling his girfriend a 'beard', that's for sure.

(, Fri 5 Mar 2010, 9:47, Reply)
He didn't move to Sidmouth did he?
The nearly dead head count is incredibly high there.
(, Fri 5 Mar 2010, 9:48, Reply)
even worse
Budleigh Salterton
(, Fri 5 Mar 2010, 9:49, Reply)
Ooh! that is dull.
I have a friend who chose to move there. Her flat has a stairlift built in.
(, Fri 5 Mar 2010, 9:57, Reply)
that sums the place up
my brother mainly moved to get away from the peasants who lived near his old place. Now he has no friends because he lives too far away (i.e. outside walking distance)
(, Fri 5 Mar 2010, 10:01, Reply)
are all his friends nomads?
or monks?
(, Fri 5 Mar 2010, 10:03, Reply)
I suppose we could be considered to be monks or nomads...

(, Fri 5 Mar 2010, 10:21, Reply)
50's night tonight
Supreme Commander for the rest of the weekend, with some breaks trying to sort out buying a flat.

I'm moving in with Ze German.
We found a cool three-bedroomed gaf 20 minutes walk from work - sweet!

Changing job, house and county in the space of a month is fucking stressful though.

cheers!
I'm really looking forward to it. There are two living rooms as well so she has agreed I will have one devoted to the goggle box and she can pretty up the other one. I'm going to set up a bar in it too. I'm never leaving the house!

*waits for invitation*

(, Fri 5 Mar 2010, 10:43, Reply)
Got my mental Aussie friend visiting from London after not seeing her for months
and another friend of ours has just got a long overdue and very well deserved new job, got rid of her lame boyfriend, passed her driving test and decided to move in with my girlfriend (thus saving them both money).

There's a lot of drinking and celebrating to be done.
(, Fri 5 Mar 2010, 9:55, Reply)
Well have fun.
Pamber any good for wild camping?
(, Fri 5 Mar 2010, 10:20, Reply)
Not really,
There are too many dog walkers about, and there is a wandering herd of cattle who trample everything.
(, Fri 5 Mar 2010, 10:26, Reply)
How about any of the other sites?
I'm the 'arrive at dusk, gone at dawn' type.
(, Fri 5 Mar 2010, 10:51, Reply)
Try the New Forest.
But if you are, as you say, then give it a try. I've never heard of "geurilla camping" before, but it sounds cool.

I do know a lot of woods, and other places too, so give me some examples of places you have been to and I'll see if I can add some similar sites.
(, Fri 5 Mar 2010, 11:05, Reply)
Anywhere I can get 100m from roads, houses, footpaths.
Scenic if poss - woods are good - anywhere I can do a decent (say 6/8 mile) hike too and the walk is worth doing. Animals, agricultural or wild, are no problem.
Dartmoor seems to be my first thought always, but it's too far away.
I live in the country's most heavily wooded county (or is it second?) and I plan to try a few of the woods in your link over spring/summer.
I'll let you know how that goes.

Have a good one.
