Admittedly I should have phrased the above more carefully

Your guitar had better sound nice because it looks dreadful!

That particular guitar bears a frightening resemblance to the Persian Gulf.

the bit that looks like a bug's buggy bits.
I hate guitars with horns.

even my acoustic guitar has a pointy bit, much like this one

It's tacky.
My Tanglewood would make Francis proud.

it gives it a pleasing asymmetry
it also means you can play much further up the neck. can't play much beyond the 12th fret on standard acoustic guitar, which is no use to anyone.
(, Tue 9 Mar 2010, 16:25, Reply)
I was on about aesthetics.
I can only play about 6 chords.
(, Tue 9 Mar 2010, 16:27, Reply)
granted they need to look good, but beyond that it's far more important how they play and sound.
which is why I don't have a Les Paul, because I don't get on with how they play

before Dimebag whassis face made them popular. It was stolen. I cried.

Probably one of the most comfortable guitars I've ever had in my lap.
Looks bloody silly though.

that guitar sounded amazing. Shame I could never take it anywhere as it wouldn't fit in a sodding guitar case.

that my eyes were immediately drawn to the goatee?
Didn't expect that. No idea why
Edit: but it is nice to know that we're not the same person after all. I can't pull off facial hair. Hehe... "pull off"

My Sherry, Pride and Joy. (Or one v similar).
Can't play for shite, though.
Gone acoustic lately too. Another age thing.
(, Tue 9 Mar 2010, 15:50, Reply)
I'm not a fan, and I can't play it without making it go horribly out of tune. I think it knows I don't like it and the feeling is mutual.
(, Tue 9 Mar 2010, 15:51, Reply)
doesn't suit my style really. the guy has a couple of nice telecasters as well, and we have a long running argument about which is better out of mine and his guitars.
clearly mine are best, you just need to see my Strat to know that.
(, Tue 9 Mar 2010, 15:57, Reply)
not only do Strats sound better, they play better and look better as well.
(, Tue 9 Mar 2010, 16:11, Reply)
I can't fault a Strat - and my guitarist's Strat is a particularly beautiful bit of kit - it's just never really captivated me and made me think "ZOMFG I have to own one of these." Last time I tried a Telecaster, on the other hand, I was really quite taken with the honk of the bridge pickup.
But then I'm one of those awkward buggers who think SGs are far nicer than Les Pauls, so you might want to ignore whatever I say. (Plus I'm normally on bass anyway.)
