A girl I know on facebook changed her status to this -
"John Venables new name is David Calvert, he lives in Fleetwood and raped a 19 yr old girl in school ground in Warrington. he spent time at barton child unit so he knew the area. Some prison warden doesnt think it should be kept quiet either! Pass it on to as many people as you can"

Clearly she's pasted this, as she can't spell to save her life, and the sentences almost makes sense. I found it interesting, so thought I'd whack the name into google, see what it came up with. This makes it fairly clear that this rumour is fairly clearly bullshit, so I simply noted that this info is wrong, checking google would confirm, and that we should leave the poor guy (Calvert, not Venables) alone.

The response made me laugh, and weep for humanity at the same time.

It really annoys me.

My cousin, who's facebook posts are normally completely mental, actually had a really decent rant telling everybody to shut up and stop spreading this Calvert blokes name about like butter.

Venables was arrested and police took his laptop on which it was alleged were 'level 4' indecent images of children level 5 being the worst.

I didn't know thay had a category system and if they do, I doubt such images are that easy to pigeon-hole.

That aside, I very much doubt these allegations are even remotely true and have been dreamt up in order to turn him from just evil to superevil.
