I royally fucked up an interview for a job i REALLY wanted today
there is no way in hell I would hire me, so I know it's a lost cause.

This has pissed me off. What have you ever got pissed off about and been completely unable to rectify?
(, Thu 11 Mar 2010, 20:40, 31 replies, latest was 16 years ago)
Oh dear : (
The fact that Jeff Bridges will never know how happy I could make him.
(, Thu 11 Mar 2010, 20:46, Reply)
doesn't that gummy thing he does with his mouth put you off?

(, Thu 11 Mar 2010, 20:48, Reply)
No.
What job were you after?
(, Thu 11 Mar 2010, 20:55, Reply)
something that would be a complete career change
so i was nervous anyway. I choked when they gave me a test scenario
(, Thu 11 Mar 2010, 20:59, Reply)
Sorry to hear that.
You're still young. Plenty of time to have another go.
(, Thu 11 Mar 2010, 21:02, Reply)
not young enough
a few years ago this would be 'meh'

these days it's 'the blues'
(, Thu 11 Mar 2010, 21:09, Reply)
You don't know though
it might not be as bad as you think.
(, Thu 11 Mar 2010, 21:32, Reply)
i am fairly certain

Hi Micto
Not that much has pissed me off recently, I've just had a lovely long bath and currently have a cat sprawled across most of the laptop making it hard to type.

What career are you hoping to move into?
(, Thu 11 Mar 2010, 21:02, Reply)
fucking cats :)
(that's a response to the first part, not an answer to the question)
(, Thu 11 Mar 2010, 21:10, Reply)
Meh, he's happy :)

(, Thu 11 Mar 2010, 21:14, Reply)
you've got to work your way up
this week it's mopping floors, next week it's the fries
(, Thu 11 Mar 2010, 21:03, Reply)
That's what happens when you don't win a scholarship to Harrow school
I can't believe they charge £28,000 per year to educate little prisses.
(, Thu 11 Mar 2010, 21:06, Reply)
28 grand
fuck me....
(, Thu 11 Mar 2010, 21:36, Reply)
The pushy parents on this really worry me.
Just let your children be children.
(, Thu 11 Mar 2010, 21:43, Reply)
to a certain extent
but if you can afford to send your child to a truly excellent school, you would, wouldn't you?
i know i would, as long as it was 'co-ed' and non-boarding
(, Thu 11 Mar 2010, 21:48, Reply)
I can't believe that
the one boy decided not to take his scholarship!
(, Thu 11 Mar 2010, 22:04, Reply)
I did that
with a place at Winchester College, and am on that basis alone, spasticated.
(, Thu 11 Mar 2010, 22:05, Reply)
Unless you were retarded.
If you can afford a private education for your child but choose not to on principle, not only are you depriving your child of the best education available to them, but you are also needlessly enlarging a state school classroom for the purposes of making some kind of fatuous statement.

And are therefore, a cretin.

Child = lose
Society = lose
(, Thu 11 Mar 2010, 22:04, Reply)
It is a shame on the child though
considering you're turning them into a cunt. A bit of a smart cunt, but a cunt nonetheless.
(, Thu 11 Mar 2010, 22:47, Reply)
Not so.
Some people are cunts. You can't make someone a cunt, nor indeed prevent them from being a cunt, by the school they attend.
(, Thu 11 Mar 2010, 22:51, Reply)
going to a private school
does not make you into a cunt.

I'll take a private school educated person over a chav anyday.
(, Thu 11 Mar 2010, 22:56, Reply)
I....I really don't know what the fuck you're talking about.

(, Thu 11 Mar 2010, 21:50, Reply)
A program on the TV at the moment about
boys winning scholarships to Harrow school.
(, Thu 11 Mar 2010, 22:03, Reply)
life don't talk to me about life
why isn't time travel possible
(, Thu 11 Mar 2010, 21:41, Reply)
no idea
probably something to do with maths and that. Plus of course we perceive time in a certain way, but it may not actually operate in that exact fashion
(, Thu 11 Mar 2010, 21:47, Reply)
yeah, I'd just like to
be able to change stuff like what Dr Samuel Beckett did
(, Thu 11 Mar 2010, 21:50, Reply)
with a little help from ziggy stardust

(, Thu 11 Mar 2010, 21:51, Reply)
...oh boy

(, Thu 11 Mar 2010, 21:52, Reply)
PARDON?

(, Thu 11 Mar 2010, 22:06, Reply)
To try and be all optimistic and stuff
at least you got the interview, if it is that much of a change of direction for you then they must have seen something about you that they thought was valuable to them. Next time when you ace the scenario having learned from this experience you'll be looking back at this post laughing.

That's the kind of stuff I keep telling myself anyway...

Hell, at least you got that far, I had an opportunity vanish on me today as in the space of a day it went from "They've looked at your CV and would absolutely like to interview you" to "I spoke to the hiring manager and he said you're a good engineer but they're looking for someone with more supervisory skills". Quite what changed in the intervening time I don't know.

Still, I have an interview on Tuesday which I'll have to suppress my distaste for the company during and hope for the best.

Edit: Sorry to hijack your job thread with my emo crap, good luck with your search! :)
