I use it a lot, but you can get people's contact details from other people in the social group. Facebook's great if you're actively part of a social group but there's so many people you message a few times to catch up and fall out of touch with. It's nice keeping up with people's happenings and if you want to give it a go feel free... It's just that people seem to forget that all the old ways of staying in touch are still available.
