I like Metallica
But I don't like Megadeth
(, Thu 25 Mar 2010, 14:26, 1 reply, 16 years ago)
cos megadeth are the gay man's metallica
except vortex

and tornado of souls

and hangar 18

come to think of it there are a few songs that are awesome.

good mourning - black sunday
Hook in mouth.

To be fair I like old metallica, I don't like anything after justice for all metallica

it seems that I'm almost alone in actually really quite liking Load and Reload
except for Mama Said which is a country song

have you listened to Death Magnetic? it's fucking awesome
(, Thu 25 Mar 2010, 14:33, Reply)
I tried
the first couple of songs didn't do it for me so its in the boot of the car somewhere.

I like Lamb of God but don't like Mastodon as well.

see also like tool don't like a perfect circle
(, Thu 25 Mar 2010, 14:36, Reply)
fair enough
I found it to be awesome.

I don't really like Lamb of God, although my only experience of them is seeing them live. Too screamy/shouty for me, and if I want fast widdly guitaring I'll listen to Maiden or Dream Theater.

As for Tool and APC, as far as I'm concerned Maynard can do no wrong.

I think
i'm getting to the point of loving albums rather than bands.

Heartworks by Carcass is one of my all time favourite albums, but most of their other stuff doesn't do it for me

Something else we disagree on there
Although your assessment of Megadeth is eerily accurate, right down to the killer tunes they've done. Although you missed out Holy Wars
(, Thu 25 Mar 2010, 14:42, Reply)
which bit do you disagree with?
don't know holy wars, I may check it out
(, Thu 25 Mar 2010, 14:44, Reply)
Holy Wars is the opening track on Rust in Peace. It's awesome
Load and Reload specifically, especially the latter. Not fond of Death Magnetic although it is their best album since 1991, not that this is saying much
(, Thu 25 Mar 2010, 15:05, Reply)
What's your view on Garage Inc?
a few tracks aside, I think it's great
(, Thu 25 Mar 2010, 15:07, Reply)
Yep. Awesome. Love it. Apart from Whisky in the Jar, which is a hideous misfire
Apologies for delay replying. Fucking customers
(, Thu 25 Mar 2010, 16:00, Reply)
were the customers any good?
glad to hear it. I think it's got some masterful covers on there
(, Thu 25 Mar 2010, 16:04, Reply)
It's Electric is fucking immense
and since playing Guitar Hero Metallica, I've learnt that their cover of Turn the Page is vastly superior to the original
(, Thu 25 Mar 2010, 16:09, Reply)
Plus, Astronomy is a superb track.

(, Thu 25 Mar 2010, 16:14, Reply)
Agreed
We're like the defenders of late 90's Metallica cover albums

Not as snappy as Defenders of the Earth, but perhaps a more worthwhile cause
(, Thu 25 Mar 2010, 16:19, Reply)
Ooh ohh me pick me

Can I defend Metallica covers please? I love the Tuesday's gone cover and Am I Evil
(, Thu 25 Mar 2010, 16:21, Reply)
Damn skippy
You get in just by virtue of the sig
(, Thu 25 Mar 2010, 16:25, Reply)
I heartily endorse the above comments
that album got me into Diamond Head and Blue Oyster Cult, so it should be celebrated.

Also, Mercyful Fate is fricking awesome. Am I right?
(, Thu 25 Mar 2010, 16:30, Reply)
Yes

Yes you are.

Now we need a name for our Metallica Defense Initiative
(, Thu 25 Mar 2010, 16:42, Reply)
