I don't quite get slow cookers
particularly as my oven has some very low settings

I have too many gadgety kitchen things already anyway. but the breadmaker and the george are staying.

surely cooking things
sooner is better. Slow cooker for me would just mean waiting longer to find my cooking has fucked up

if you are intending to cook something for a long time on a low heat
it is generally harder to fuck it up.

some things benefit from a long cooking time, like casseroles and stews and most things with lamb in them.

it's more time in which
I will get distracted and forget I'm cooking

won't matter
you're cooking something for like 8 hours, a couple more won't hurt

you'll remember when you get hungry
