I was reading an interesting link on white privilige and the way we take it for granted etc etc. Quite thought provoking in a way, except that it was written in 1998 and it felt a bit racist itself with its studied 'African American' and 'providing the right cultural foods for them' etc

I firmly believe
that in this country economic class is waaaay more of a social boundary than race. The white underclass you see in, say, Newham, have all of the disadvantages of their black and Asian neighbours and the poor buggers don't even have 'I'm black and I'm proud' or 'it's because I'm Asian' to fall back on - just 'I'm from generations of scum and have no prospects'. Nice thought isn't it?

On the plus side - you can re-distribute wealth.
Even if we did stir the racial pot until everyone was coffee coloured, the wealth divisions would still exist.
