I just found out I don't agree with someone(SugarSpunSister)'s political leanings but I do like her art very much. How do I reconcile this?
Have you ever found out someone wasn't just a one-dimensional character and had various facets to their personality? How did you deal with the feeling of not living in a world of black and white absolutes?

by watching some interracial porn while you're at it.

That I don't like the porn that involves "grey areas".

...and if she doesn't put out tell her that her art is dreadful and naive.

I have never actually met her in real life or anything, or do you just mean I should send her a suggestive message?
(, Fri 7 May 2010, 15:02, Reply)
So you have seen her art, but have you had a look at her arse?
(, Fri 7 May 2010, 15:12, Reply)
I have never seen her arse, or indeed anything but one photo. It didn't make me wank myself into a coma but I could be convinced otherwise.
I also actually don't know anything about her personality past that garnered from a few comments on /talk either.
She really does have an absolutely smashing art though.

You're acting weird.

I should have made it clearer that bit wasn't 100% serious.
I really don't think much of Tories though. Call it prejudice.
(, Fri 7 May 2010, 15:28, Reply)
...why do you care about her politics?
(, Fri 7 May 2010, 15:27, Reply)
SMV - praise her work when appropriate, but with a rider stating your political disparity. That's the sort of talk girls like.
Or just admire her 'Art' and ignore the Artist.
If it's a shag you're after there are other 'art' based sites. Ask Tuggers.

...and just pretending to like her art.
How shallow. Just tell her that her art is shite, her politics vile, and that you would like to do 'the sexy' with her - how can one fail with that sort of honesty?

I've drafted this love letter for your perusal:
Dear SSS,
When I saw you favoured the Conservatives it made me howl in animalistic fury like a baboon with a flaming bicycle chain up its jap's eye. Having learned further that you do what can laughingly be described as "art" and realistically be described as "a steaming piss on the memory of the Renaissance", I decided to smash a bagful of lovely kittens with a hammer to spare them the shame of existing in the same reality as your odious bile.
The sheer force of the rage you inspire in me makes me oft-times vomit molten bronze. It is otherwise a cold, unyielding hate, like an endless plain of jagged steel stretching across my mind's expanse.
Yours, StapMyVitals
P.S. Would you like to do mucky things with me and bodily fluids? I am relatively hygienic and wear very tight pants.

You are SO in with her.
Odds on she is gargling your gonads by the end of the month.
(, Fri 7 May 2010, 16:23, Reply)
and because she expressed right-wing leanings I assumed that anything else about her (i.e. what she linked to in her sig) would be reprehensible.
I was surprised to find I was so prejudiced against someone based on literally nothing more than a few comments on /talk. I thought the abject ridiculousness of my thought process was there in my original post but I can see the meaning was just in my own head.
To clarify: I never have met and never will meet SugarSpunSister, I know nothing about her, and I certainly haven't associated her with cracking one out.
I would definitely buy her work though.

...and if you get arrested for kerb-crawling it is your own fault so don't come crying.*

My aunt Dot was one dimensional - I just couldn't see the point of her.
Not living in a world of B&W absolutes? - I'm getting used to it.

As for Richard Strauss? I probably wouldn't, even though I do find the whole German thing quite alluring.
