I made an awesome cake this weekend.
Its not a cupcake though, more a huge torte.
Biscuit base covered in about three inches of solid chocolate mousse. It lasted approximately 2 minutes.

Cupcake ideas... not lolwacky but how about a banoffee one?

That's on the list
I found a recipe that slices the cake into 3 and layers banana and caramel in between, it was awesome. Total faff to try and slice a cupcake into three though so I might modify it slightly.

You get to try all these in a fortnight :D

When I do cupcakes
Instead of baking first and the slicing, add only a third of the batter, then the banana, then another third, then the caramel and then finish with the batter. As cupcakes need less time to be baked, it means that the banana will be a bit cooked, but should still be ok, if a bit sweet.

I made banana cupcakes a few weeks ago
with cut up chunks of banana in the cake and they went really well, the banana kind of caramelised in the cake so they were sort of natural banoffee.

I love the layered fruit cupcakes, the fruit goes all squishy and nom in the cake. I made up an apple and cinammon one and it tasted like crumble, it was awesome.
