When he starts contributing to the household chores
then he can have a raise.

Actually, no, he gets around £80 quid a month from us anyway for phone and guitar lessons and bugger all in return. If he manages to become a famous guitaranist, then the net contribution we made to his progress will be clawed back with interest until he's paid us off.
