(sounds posher than it is, we were all in the pub and only the position of president was contested, so the actual meeting part was fairly short)
Supposed to be revising, really can't be bothered.
Not a great fan of clubbing (though that's mostly because all of the people I like enough that I'd enjoy going out clubbing with them don't like clubbing), plus the oxford ones can be a bit meh (but are still a LOT better than the ones back home).
My something useful may be starting on the programming project I was going to save until over the holidays

Oxford clubs are really rubbish. Though Bridge can be alright, and Babylove on a Tuesday. Fuzzy Ducks when it is around was okay as well
(, Tue 1 Jun 2010, 21:21, Reply)
My hometown has some fantastic clubs and pubs: all kinds of shit goes down, pretty much anything any day of the week :D

so I don't really have a home. I don't think of Ireland as home- I've only ever lived there for a few weeks at a time.
(, Tue 1 Jun 2010, 21:43, Reply)
some of my family is though. I'm born and bred British however.
I've lived in London, Brighton, Surrey, Yorkshire, Up North, Bristol and Oxford. And Cork and Kerry in Ireland
(, Tue 1 Jun 2010, 21:51, Reply)
Most exotic is Westwood, L.A., CA. And only fr 10 months or so.
(, Tue 1 Jun 2010, 21:54, Reply)
But my family thinks of Ireland as home, while I don't. I've got no emotional connection to it, and though I like seeing my family, I really don't like where they live

I might stay in London, but I admit, Scotland appeals because of the weather. Though I think Sis will end up marrying someone from the Hebrides and having lots of ginger children, so she might shotgun Scotland.
(, Tue 1 Jun 2010, 21:57, Reply)
going to end up living in London. Though if I got a chance New York would be fantastic
(, Tue 1 Jun 2010, 21:59, Reply)
Well, i imagine I'll be in London for a while yet, either work or uni, so hit me up when you come down here. Plus all the best bashes are here.
i choose to not count cockfosters as london
(, Tue 1 Jun 2010, 22:07, Reply)
so I will be in London after June 2011. I'm sure we will overlap :)
(, Tue 1 Jun 2010, 22:18, Reply)
Working out what I'm actually going to do would be a good start
(, Tue 1 Jun 2010, 22:21, Reply)
whether anyone will want me to do it is a different matter
(, Tue 1 Jun 2010, 22:22, Reply)
but if I get a 2.1 I will be thinking about applying to the foreign office/ civil service
(, Tue 1 Jun 2010, 22:30, Reply)
Not too shabby I guess.
Small specific part of Manchester, both times.
(, Tue 1 Jun 2010, 21:58, Reply)
I'm watching Xena and doing virology notes.
(, Tue 1 Jun 2010, 22:27, Reply)
Done about half.
Though actually, need part of it explaining properly anyway, so not a bad thing to bring up at a revision session.
Don't let me stay on here till 2 again tonight, got to go hand in lab work tomorrow and talk some of it over with a fellow, so can't be too tired.
(, Tue 1 Jun 2010, 22:29, Reply)
you're not a student until you stay up until six to get an essay done, grab two hours sleep and a shower, then dash to your tute clutching the essay it took you twenty minutes to find a working printer for, only to arrive ten minutes late, sweating and apologising.
Or is that just me?
(, Tue 1 Jun 2010, 22:33, Reply)
If I ever bothered/managed to actually finish a problem sheet.
As it is, I think I've only handed in a fully done sheet about twice this year
(, Tue 1 Jun 2010, 22:35, Reply)
And I want to still be able to next year :P
Don't think I've made it to bed before 2 whenever I've been on here in the evenings normally (and doubt I will tonight tbh)
(, Tue 1 Jun 2010, 22:34, Reply)
and I'm going to watch that video I posted up there again.
Because it fills me with glee for so many reasons.

Why oh why do I never buy anything unhealthy??
I would kill for a millionaire's shortbread right now.
(, Tue 1 Jun 2010, 22:32, Reply)
I have cereal, toast, flavoured ice cubes or oranges.
And none of them have chocolate in!!
(, Tue 1 Jun 2010, 22:35, Reply)
Raw lamb burgers
tomatoes
peppers
chilis
Basically nothing that can be made into snacky food quickly (at least not without destroying what remains of my meal plan for the rest of the week, paella tomorrow omnomnom)
(, Tue 1 Jun 2010, 22:38, Reply)
But all my snackable stuff is listed above.
Actually, I wouldn't mind a stir fry but that's effort.
(, Tue 1 Jun 2010, 22:41, Reply)
Right starting from tomorrow. Diet.
(, Tue 1 Jun 2010, 22:38, Reply)
Essentially frozen flavoured water. No calories or sugar or chemicals or anything and it tricks you into thinking you've had an icecream.

I have three weeks before I'm off to Malta, then Rome. I want to lose weight (diet) and tone a bit (gym) so need to keep motivated
(, Tue 1 Jun 2010, 22:44, Reply)
I shall probably be emaciated when I get back from download, I always forget to eat when I'm drunk.
(, Tue 1 Jun 2010, 22:46, Reply)
Can be OK for drinking (so long as you avoid wetherspoons), but rough enough just to go into town on the friday/saturday nights that I wouldn't go anywhere near the clubs
(, Tue 1 Jun 2010, 21:37, Reply)
Then again, my taste is bad. I'm watching disney films with a pepsi can between my tits, drinking with a straw.
(, Tue 1 Jun 2010, 21:44, Reply)
Just the Guildford one is an absolute shithole.
Oxford spoons (Four Candles) is nice, and Godalming spoons is a fantastic pub, which I've been in more than all the pubs in the rest of Surrey put together.
(, Tue 1 Jun 2010, 21:46, Reply)
you can imagine how that turns out
(, Tue 1 Jun 2010, 21:49, Reply)
my college owns a little pub right next door to it

The one bad thing about LMH :(
Our bar is fairly good though
(, Tue 1 Jun 2010, 21:53, Reply)
as say Catz or even Hertford. But it has a good selection and nice bartenders
(, Tue 1 Jun 2010, 21:54, Reply)
I owe almost a tenner in library fees. FML, that's like a bottle of nice vodka.
(, Tue 1 Jun 2010, 21:56, Reply)
and that was with the nice librarian knocking ten pounds off
(, Tue 1 Jun 2010, 21:58, Reply)
Architecture in Rome as well. Which is valued at fucking £270. I HAVE to find it
(, Tue 1 Jun 2010, 22:00, Reply)
it means I can't go to Rome. I've looked everywhere though and simply cannot find it :(
(, Tue 1 Jun 2010, 22:06, Reply)
Seen if anyone has picked it up by mistake?
(, Tue 1 Jun 2010, 22:07, Reply)
Argh my mother is kicking up a fuss about me doing Rome alone
(, Tue 1 Jun 2010, 22:21, Reply)
She won't think alone is such a bad idea any more
(, Tue 1 Jun 2010, 22:22, Reply)
I'm sure it'll be incredible.
If you need somewhere to stay, I think the English College in Rome do rooms. It's pretty in the centre and being in a priest's school might make things better :P
(, Tue 1 Jun 2010, 22:25, Reply)
I know a few people who want to go, but I don't want to be forced into compromise over what to do/see etc, especially as I'd be the only historian. I might meet up with them though. The accommodation in hostels is relatively expensive though
(, Tue 1 Jun 2010, 22:28, Reply)
Why do you think I always end up de-lurking just before exams?
(, Tue 1 Jun 2010, 21:52, Reply)
Plus, I enjoy our library. Though now FitFinder's been taken off it's no longer as fun :(
(, Tue 1 Jun 2010, 21:56, Reply)
Also is wrong that I was inspired by the link in the last thread to the fast weight-loss diet?
(, Tue 1 Jun 2010, 21:57, Reply)
FitFinder is a website where you go to post if you've seen a hottie in the library. Unis asked for it to be taken off as it apparently stopped people working.
FFS facebook was worse.
(, Tue 1 Jun 2010, 22:00, Reply)
I've never seen it. But that sounds quite good.
And I just ate a chocolate eclair. I'm not inspired just yet
(, Tue 1 Jun 2010, 22:03, Reply)
This is my excuse for not working.
Been surviving off aero hot chocolate all day.
(, Tue 1 Jun 2010, 22:04, Reply)
It's only about 80 mins, like, less than 2 episodes of House long.
You should watch it.
I just saw the bit with "Ev'rybody Wants To Be A Cat", there's a character called Scat-Cat and a really racist Siamese cat that plays piano with chopsticks.
