argh! PE kit!
Green mini skirt thing with PE knickers underneath, all embroidered with our initials. As previously mentioned, I was an awkward fat geek kid - PE kit did me no favours

I got lucky.
As I was a competitive trampolinist & gymnast, I was allowed to wear my club leotards which were specially made for my body size/length/weight.

That sounds so 80s
that it actually gives me a headache. I still maintain that navy blue 'gym knickers' with white go-faster stripes were worse. Especially since they were made entirely of this weird thick synthetic canvas type stuff. I was made to wear them for cross country because, and I quote 'perhaps the shame of having those chubby thighs on show will spur you to lose some weight'.

The worst bit was you could always tell
when someone had their period by the huge bulge. I started using tampons on my 2nd ever period.

I mean, I understand wearing something under netball skirts, but those monstrosities?

I don't think we ever had to wear them on their own...thank the lord.

I was shit at sport. I think I scored a goal in hockey once, it shocked everyone.

Imagine
being 14 and having to wear a yellow polo shirt and black lycra shorts and play volleyball with the boys. Scarred me for life.

If we lost the skirt, and there were none spare you had to wear the green PE knickers by themselves. Or if they were feeling merciful you could wear your winter tracksuit bottoms

That place still gives me nightmares.

Not quite as bad was the labcoat bucket. You had to find one that wasn't too stained or too smelly or too big or too small. My labcoat turned an interesting shade of pink when I splashed acid on it- never knew navy blue reacted that way...
