I've only seen the telly show, but I find it really really dull and borring.

I've always quite liked the tv show too
each to their own I suppose

Yup, true =)
It's pretty much any murder/crime show on ITV3 that I can't stand, or that Alibi channel. When ever I crash 'round my Mum's place, we have a trade-off, one of those shows in exchange for me watching hollyoaks, and then we get to watch something 'neutral', normally something like Law'n'Order or House.

I pretend that I don't like [erm, I the name escapes me now, the one where they get MPs and stuff to debate and awnser questions from people around the country].
In reality, I don't mind it, but I know my Ma' likes that show, so I use that as leverage so I can watch something like a cooking show.

sounds like you've got a good system
I tend to mostly watch comedy stuff, or currently Legend of the Seeker (fairly awful swords and magic stuff with hot women)

however, I do have some guilty pleasures. I fucking love watching CSI (the vegas one), Sherlock Holmes, Poirot, and I hate to admit it but I've got sucked into Big Brother. hadn't happened since I left uni....

I love food and cooking shows, I can watch them all day long without getting bored.
I find the whole thing fascinating, the only cooking shows I don't really like are the older ones, like Delia or Two Fat Ladies or the one with that old lesbian who's name begins with 'T'.

Other shows I like are; House, Hollyoaks, Law'n'Order, Scrubs, How I Meet Your Mother and...ermm... I'm sure there is more, I just can't think of any.

I used to watch telly all the time, but I hardly have time for it these days, or I'm more interested in doing other things.

I'm the same with cooking shows
I got really gripped by Masterchef Australia when that was on. I recommend it.

I really can't stand soaps, and particularly Hollyoaks though. It completely does my head in.

That's pretty awesome, I like the fat guy who looks like that american magicion (from Pen'n'Teller).
I used to get quite annoyed watching that Food Network channel, the way a lot of them speak (eg, Racial Ray talks to you like you're 5 years old, and [is it gloria?] always talks about growing up in italy yet she moved to the states when she was 6), and how they would do things so different to us, like the weird mix of savory and sweet (Sweet Potato Pie, Bacon and Mayple Syrup, Cheese Waffles...etc), and the huge portions (I've seen Bearfoot Contessa cook what should be for 10 people, but only for 5*) but now I'm over those things and can enjoy them.

* I've kindda worked out that she must give the camera crew food.

I find that american sweet/savoury thing weird too
on Stephen Fry in America he went to thanksgiving dinner at some guys house (they deep-fried a turkey) and they had a dish of mashed yams (sweet potato to us) and had melted marshmallows on top. what.the.fuck?

I *think* I saw that.
Yeh', it's really strange. I love that "Greatest thing I've eaten" show where they get food-celebs to talk about the best food in the world. The #1 is normally deep fried. The guy from Ace Of Cakes choose deep-fried prawn heads. I do admit, that although it sounds grose, when I'm in cyprus and order garlic prawns, they normally come with (real) chips, and I love dipping a chip in the head and even sucking out the head-guts, but I couldn't eat the shell... although saying that, when I go japanise I normally order Soft Shell Crab Ta/maki, and that's lush.

Prawn is my favorite meat.
When it comes weight-to-weight, I'd rather have prawn than any other meat.
