fair enough
I've consumed a large number of spliffs over the last week. I think it has damaged me somewhat.

I'm fairly sure all the weed I smoked in my teens and at Uni has fucked my memory to some extent
Doesn't happen to everyone though.

my memory is a bit shit for some things
but still unbelievably precise for others. so I kind of suspect I'd be like this anyway.

All this conversation about weed reminds me how long its been since I got properly stoned
I'm going to be a mess when I finally meet you Vippers. In fact I'd like to apologise now

heh
it's ok, I can't drink these days so I'll be a mess too

Please tell Mrs V that I'm lovely online, when I'm sober
For some reason I'm more concerned about offending her than you. Probably because I reckon with enough mutual piss-taking via B3ta you'll get over it
(, Tue 29 Jun 2010, 11:14, Reply)
she's not easily offended
no amount of piss taking could come close to equalling what passes between me and my old school mates, so I don't think you have to worry.

You're still friends with people you went to school with?
I did go to a school full of cunts mind you. Am known for saying unnecessarily offensive stuff when wasted but am usually very respectful when I meet people for the first time so it should be an interesting balance I attempt to strike
(, Tue 29 Jun 2010, 11:33, Reply)
yeah, most of my mates that I see regularly are people from school
or friends I've stolen from my brother (bassist and drummer in my band)

since 6th form we've been having a christmas meal with all the guys from school who are all still friends in regular contact. there's probably about 30 of us.

I wonder what that's like
Very few people can stand to associate with me over a protracted period of time

spent most of the weekend with my mate who was the first person I met at secondary school
thus making him my oldest friend. I'm impressed that he has managed to stand the constant abuse for 18 years. His fault for being so easy to wind up I think, and so rewarding to watch him flip out.

Are either of you
actually planning to see any bands at sonisphere or is it going to degenerate in to mess and MASSIVE DRUGS?
(, Tue 29 Jun 2010, 11:16, Reply)
there are going to be bands there?

(, Tue 29 Jun 2010, 11:19, Reply)
There actually aren't that many bands I want to see
Maiden, Pendulum, Rammstein obviously. Therapy cos they're playing Troublegum, Terrorvision for old times' sake and I'm intrigued by Corey Taylor's acoustic set. That's it. The rest of it is all about hanging out with my mates, meeting new people (this is where you guys come in) and getting horribly, horribly wasted
(, Tue 29 Jun 2010, 11:24, Reply)
I saw Corey Taylor do an acoustic set last year
it was dull and average. I wouldn't bother with it.

See Alice in Chains. They were the best thing there last year, including Metallica.

some of my favourite odd bands are playing like Bigelf (so excited about that), The Cult, Karnivool, 65daysofstatic, Apocalyptica, Skindred....

so many good bands
(, Tue 29 Jun 2010, 11:29, Reply)
Ooh, yeah, will definitely see Apocalyptica
Am less into the scene than I was a few years ago (luckily most of the people who come to Rawkus are stuck in their ways) so will be spending a lot of time discovering "new" bands who've been around for years
