Are you leaving a little deposit?
I guess I'll have to look up Biobank.

Sounds very useful.
I'm a lapsed blood donor, it just takes too long to get my syrupy blood out.

Permission to be smug: granted.

I'm not allowed to donate blood. :(

Pourquoi?

I have very low blood pressure,
*and* australian blood donors aren't allowed to have tattoos younger then a year old, and since I got my first one done in march, it's going to be a while til I'm even allowed to go there to get my blood pressure checked. I've been three times and each time my blood pressure was too low.

If you had my blood pressure, you'd burst.
If you give blood at all, won't you faint?
(, Sat 3 Jul 2010, 11:58, Reply)
yeah pretty much.
It's low enough that when I get blood tests I get really dizzy.

I'm quite lucky
in that I think I have the lowest possible blood pressure on the healthy scale. The main problem with me giving blood is my "teeny tiny delicate veins", even though they're clearly visible through the ghastly pallor of my skin.

What's your tattoo of?
(, Sat 3 Jul 2010, 12:19, Reply)
aha yeah mine's just under the healthy scale for blood pressure.
always been like that though, not sure why.

It's a bittersweet flower. they're purple and are used to represent "truth". Truth is pretty much my strongest value. hence why I picked that particular flower.

Just googleimaged them, they're really pretty!
I'm waiting til I get my job to get my first tattoo, and I probably should give blood again before I do so (same in the UK- have to wait a year after tattoos and piercings (or maybe it's 6 months after piercings))

One thing I really love about them is that they're actually poisonous,
which struck me as somewhat ironic when you consider their meaning.
(, Sat 3 Jul 2010, 12:46, Reply)
I've only donated blood once
and when I did, they didn't even give me a certificate or anything.
