Heavy Rain
An absolutely awesome game! It's like having control over a film and I was totally engrossed by it

What games have you played recently (or in the past) that you just couldn't put down and then wanted to play all over again once you'd finished?
(, Mon 12 Jul 2010, 14:53, 56 replies, latest was 16 years ago)
Red Dead Redemption

I like football games
I always play as west ham man.

I don't think I've ever actually had a normal conversation with you.
I should start:
what's the weather forecast for milton keynes look like tonight?
What did I have with cheese in my baquette for lunch?
What's the opposite of woman?
(, Mon 12 Jul 2010, 14:58, Reply)
well I find it funny you cunts.

It was mildly amusing
but I wanted to hurt you so I didn't write 'haha'.

Kingdom Hearts
what, I like Disney!
(, Mon 12 Jul 2010, 14:58, Reply)
I forgot all about that one, I was waiting for it to be a bit cheaper.
God of War 3 is awesome, and I love portal, portal 2 is the game I'm most looking forward to at the moment, I really hope the PS3 version allows for you to play using a keyboard/mouse.

(, Mon 12 Jul 2010, 15:02, Reply)
I use to play this for a while with a women from Singapore who I stayed with.
I should get back into it.
(, Mon 12 Jul 2010, 15:04, Reply)
The ones I've played most are Fable 1 & 2
But FF7 still has unlimited playability for me!
(, Mon 12 Jul 2010, 15:02, Reply)
I loved Fable 2
Someone bought it for my birthday and Wiggy played it when he was 'working from home' and got past me so I got annoyed and fed his character loads of pies and gave him a pink mohawk. That learned him.
(, Mon 12 Jul 2010, 15:07, Reply)
Haha
I did it the same way on 1 & 2. Played through at least 3 times. First time normal (as in, do whatever I fancy), second time be extra nice to everyone, third time be as evil as possible.

Went as a woman on Fable 2, am currently slaughtering any village I come to.

This explains my feelings on that 'game'
www.gametrailers.com/video/heavy-rain-hawp/62938

Goldeneye/ Perfect Dark/ GTA Vice City/ Modern Warfare 1 & 2
(, Mon 12 Jul 2010, 15:02, Reply)
It seems that Goldeneye is being remade
I'm still not sure whether I'm happy or not about that
(, Mon 12 Jul 2010, 15:02, Reply)
it could be fucking awesome
really fucking awesome

hopefully though, it will have more than one decent level for the single player game
(, Mon 12 Jul 2010, 15:04, Reply)
It looks like a reimagination of it but with Daniel Craig. I don't think it's done by Rare either.
I think it will be shit. The shooting will be all wonky and they will have no bighead mode.
(, Mon 12 Jul 2010, 15:05, Reply)
Trouble is, they can't go back in time and turn me 13 (or whatever age I was) again, which was a big element of it.
There was a new James Bond, first one in my lifetime (I think), and it wasn't cheesy (at the time).

I got a '64 last year, got all my fave games for it (Silicon Valley, Goldeneye, Zelda, [that one where you're a truck and have to smash things]), but none of them really 'do' it for me any more.

It's cos we're all whores to the amazing graphics of the current consoles

(, Mon 12 Jul 2010, 15:19, Reply)
naa, we're not
playability is still what it's about, which is why things like Secret of Monkey Island are better than all of today's games.
(, Mon 12 Jul 2010, 15:21, Reply)
I suppose (not that I've ever heard of Secret of Monkey Island)
I do agree that some games stand the test of time. Like Crash Bandicoot for PS1
(, Mon 12 Jul 2010, 15:24, Reply)
Nah', not at all.
There isn't a single game on a Nintendo machine with a real 'wow' factor graphics-wise, but they have some good games. I ended up flogging my Wii stuff for a PS3 though, because I found I hadn't used it in a year, I just didn't get any enjoyment out of it, I was hoping for a decent Mario Party style game, but they were all to gimicky.
(, Mon 12 Jul 2010, 15:25, Reply)
The Nintendo Wii is fun for zombie shooters
especially when you're playing with another person and not just against the game. The Redident Evil's on Wii were quite fun, though graphics whise the Wii fails. It's really a console for little kids and women, and I suppose there's a market for that, so why not.
(, Mon 12 Jul 2010, 15:29, Reply)
original final fantasy on the iphone and still cant stop playing borderlands on the xbox.
Also I will put in Super Street Fighter 4 for a burn between shooting baddies in the face.
(, Mon 12 Jul 2010, 15:03, Reply)
Lemmings and Minesweeper.
They're the only ones that I know how to play, really.
(, Mon 12 Jul 2010, 15:06, Reply)
Ah, i have minesweeper on my phone
It's for that reason that I take longer on on the bog than I probably should, it's addictive
(, Mon 12 Jul 2010, 15:12, Reply)
I like the game "paint"
ok, not technically a game but soooooo much fun

(, Mon 12 Jul 2010, 15:12, Reply)
Yeah, especially as he's going to have to wake up next to his plain wife for the next 50 years
or at least until she leaves him
(, Mon 12 Jul 2010, 15:17, Reply)
Obviously he hasn't thought this marriage thing through.

I like Chubby Rain
also, I've just started re-playing X-Com Apocalypse, for the first time in many years.
Captain Bob Cheesemonkey and his team of merry alien-blasting ne'er-do-wells ride once again.
(, Mon 12 Jul 2010, 15:13, Reply)
I fucking love X-Com Apocalypse,
totally downloading it tonight, I can complete it on superhuman, or at least used to be able to.
(, Mon 12 Jul 2010, 15:18, Reply)
It's not as good as I remember
but still one of the best, and nerdiest, games of all time.

EDIT oh, and in case you were wondering, I downloaded it from 'Steam', which actually isn't a website for gays.
(, Mon 12 Jul 2010, 15:20, Reply)

Has anyone played both Heavy Rain and Alan Wake?
And is there any comparison between the two or are they completely different games?
(, Mon 12 Jul 2010, 15:15, Reply)
I don't think Alan Wake is out yet.
I swear that game was on the back of the box when I got my 360 on Launch Day, they've spent yonks on it.
(, Mon 12 Jul 2010, 15:18, Reply)
Yea, It's out
Been out about a month now, only on Xbox though :(
(, Mon 12 Jul 2010, 15:20, Reply)
Yeah', most games published by Microsoft are only on the 360.
I'm not really interested in it, looks a bit borring to be honest, but pretty nether-the-less.
(, Mon 12 Jul 2010, 15:23, Reply)
I've only ever played one video game.
Resident evil 4. That was ok. I'm generally shit at them though, I got banned off my friend's PS2 I was that poor at Fifa.

Oh, and I played a bit of COD, but I was shite. And I rock at Burnout revenge, but only cos it's the point of the game to crash into things.
(, Mon 12 Jul 2010, 15:17, Reply)
Res 4 was awesome,
you have good taste but if you only thought it was ok you're shit.
(, Mon 12 Jul 2010, 15:21, Reply)
I wasn't that interested in playing it.
But I wasn't given a choice.
(, Mon 12 Jul 2010, 15:25, Reply)
i would agree but she's only played two games and one of them happens to be one of the best ever so she has no basis of reference bless her cotton socks !!!

(, Mon 12 Jul 2010, 15:28, Reply)
Did they not take glee in beating you though?
I would never ban someone for being totally shit, I would just continue to bet them. I feel your pain though, I kinda suck a FPS's. Give me a driving game anyday
(, Mon 12 Jul 2010, 15:21, Reply)
I was so crap that beating me wasn't all that much fun.

(, Mon 12 Jul 2010, 15:27, Reply)
Believe me, you'd be Spain to my Grimsby Town Second XI on any football game.
I've just never got the gaming bug.
