i live near the seabut it's not so nice to swim in it unless you travel along the coast to a nice bit. I wish I could be in the sea more

I'm not a surfer(I got outrun by an 8 year old when I went bodyboarding) but I hear Gower is pretty awesome for it. Perhaps I am wasting opportunities

There are nice beaches up here toobut you've to be pretty brave/daft to swim in the North Sea, even in August.
