Indeed so.
I've not seen him for fucking ages.

You get on okay with him then?

(, Thu 29 Jul 2010, 9:07, Reply)
God yes.
Great pals we are. We have a great deal in common, from sense of humour to an obsession with history, and a lot of shared ground musically.

I don't see my dad as often as I should really and he only lives in Cumbria.

thats cool
my father and I have little in common but still get on but I think it would be more fun if we liked the same stuff.

He taught me about Le Petomane
and about Burning Spear, Hendrix, Dick Dale and all the old 50s rock'n'roll. He's also the reason why I've visited almost every castle on the British mainland. From when I was old enough to understand, he filled my head with King Arthur, Beowulf and Classical myths and legends - he is responsible for me being a dreamer who doesn't wish to engage with the modern world. And for being a massive pedant and intellectual snob.

Whose fault is it that you like AC/DC?

My brother's. Ditto Motorhead.
He's three years older than me: I was 7 when 'Back in Black' came out but I heard it daily nevertheless.

That's actually quite a good excuse
Seeing as how it's my excuse for liking Bon Jovi

Apparently Dick Dale is ill
this is not good news

He's survived arse cancer a few times already.
That doesn't sound good at all. Glad I got to see him when I did (thank you again).
(, Thu 29 Jul 2010, 9:43, Reply)
yeah
he's getting old though. Recently did his first ever gig sat down and first ever when he didn't greet fans afterwards.

like BB King.
Still, DD has been rocking like a demon for 50 years - bound to take its toll. I rate his gig amongst the best I've ever seen.

I'm not surprised
the man is a complete legend

The aggression in his playing was just incredible.
The intensity of the performance shamed musicians a third of his age. Stupendous.

Mine taught me golf.
But he did take to me to Queen, Wembleyu 86 as my first concert and then to Highbury for my fifth birthday.

Am welling up!!!!!!!
