I'm going for something called a KTP instead
Knowledge Transfer Partnerships, which need less experience, work half with unis and half with industry, but should count as experience when then applying for a job. And you get paid.

I was looking for an apprenticeship but they don't seem to do them for interior designers. The job prospects do look slightly better in Australia though so all is not lost

I considered it, but wouldn't be able to manage the setup costs.

As a new graduate I wouldn't have the first clue where to start though
I think I would need to train properly before I could just start my own.
